:o  The newspaper said this boa was 55 feet long. Not sure of the 55 feet but it's the biggest snake I ever seen. Record was somewhere around 30 feet before.  LEON.

Oh man, they killed it! What a shame!

Would have been a great attraction someplace.

Look at it compared to those guys. Its head is bigger than theirs, and it is bigger around than they are.

That thing could have ate a cow!

They accidently killed it. They were clearing the way for a new road. Was moving a mound of dirt & hit the snake with the bulldozer. Ends up a bigger one got away unharmed :o :o  LEON.

Thats crazy!   I bet that thing would be a mean mofo to come across in the jungle! ZGood thing that had a trackhoe there to deal with it!

Time to make some boots!

Looks like one big snake but I'm not sure I'm buying the claim of it being 55' long. Just using the track hoe as a refernce and based on how tall the man is in comparison to the tracks I"d guess the arm on the track hoe to be around 35-40' long and the snake looks like it would be close to the length of the arm excluding the bucket to me.

You're onto something, Danny, I agree that it isn't 55' long.

The excavator they are on doesn't look that much larger than average, & the bucket is closer to the camera so it isn't in the right perspective. That size excavator bucket is probably no bigger than 5 or 6 feet at most. The longer half of the snake hanging, is only a little more than twice the size of the bucket & is around 14' total. Even if the snake was hanging equally in half it couldn't be more than 28' or so with another couple of feet across the bucket on top.   :Twocents:

You're right about the perspective in relation to the photo and it probably makes it look bigger than it is....

....but in my perspective....IT'S STILL A BIG ASS SNAKE!!!

That should be enough to make a few pairs of boots.

jaak

I don't know if it is actually 55 feet or not, but if I were to stumble upon it.....I would still shit my pants.
