hello fellers,

i got a ? or 2....i bought a  440 today and on the left side of the block are these #'s  3830930  440  5  i've looked for a decoder but not sure i'm gettin the right info,  any thoughts???  also, where can i get stock rocker arms and shafts???

Not much to decode, basic late 440 casting number. The dash number following the displacement is a casting core revision number. The side of the block will also have a raised casting date and other foundry data but the real info you want is stamped in the data pad in front of the intake manifold.
