i was planing to use edelbrock heads.
and i have 3.55 gears at the rear.
i want about 550 hp without stroking.
on pump fuel is this do able
the only things im re-using is the block and the crank

can anyone fill in the gaps
thanks for your time

Yes, it is very doable without stroking on pump gas.

read through the proven combos section, but basically the "key" parts are an HONEST 10:1 Compression Ratio(or slightly better) with the Aluminum Eddy Heads, not theoretical, and a decent Camshaft in the 240-250 @ .050 range around mid .500's" Lift(XS282 for example), using a decent Intake & Carb.

The "tricks" getting to actual 550hp level, will involve some enhanced Port Matching/Bowl Porting and Valve seat Angles, NOT delivered with the Eddy's O.O.T.B.
and
tweaking the 10.2-10.3:1 C.R. WITH .050" quench.

I think Ron's old motor was a good example of what you are looking for, Tried & True, he could BEAT IT like a "Red-Headed Step Child" all day with no worries ! :2thumbs:
I'm sure he'll chime in right away with any details.

Bob out.
