window motor help

Hi all, my son has a 1999 m stang ( I know, I know) conv. The first problem is the pass side quarter window motor. It is not working,how can I test this?? It's different ,it has no coils just bare magnets. It has a two wire harness ,I believe one for up and the other for down. If I have it on my bench where would  the ground go...to the case? I have continuity from each wire to it's brush (none between the two) and continuity from wire to wire when it is assembled. No continuity from commutator to shaft,there is continuity from comutator segment to segment. May be looking for one of these plus the glass and the switch for this motor on the drivers door(main switch). Any guidence would be appreciated.
