After a long break I am back to working on my Charger but ran into a small problem yesterday.  Somewhere I have the original fan spacer and bolts to my car but I can't seem to remember where I put them.  So, my question is two fold: What size fan spacer do I need for my car and how long / what type of bolts do I need?  ('69 Charger 383 2bbl with A/C) I know as soon as I buy replacements I will find the originals but just in case I need to know.  Thanks in advance.   :2thumbs:

Wouldn't an A/C car have a clutch fan - Even a 383 2bbl? I don't have my books handy at the moment to check.

Maybee that's why I can't find it?   :scratchchin:  I do have the clutch.  Took too much time off from this!  Never thought when I started it would be this involved.   :eyes:

I don't have a pic handy but the fan slides over the studs in the fan clutch and is held on with lock washers and nuts. The clutch goes onto the water pump snout with short bolts. Frank Badalson and others sell all the proper hardware.  :2thumbs:

Thanks guys!  I see this site never changes.  Always a valuable resource for the Charger enthusiast.   :2thumbs:

Good pic but remember an original clutch has threaded studs coming out of it (not bolts going in like the aftermarket shown). Washers and nuts attach the fan to the clutch if both pieces on yours are original. Just don't want to confuse you!  :2thumbs:

Good point, here is a pic of the original on the left and aftermarket on the right. I used the Hayden clutch because it was lower profile for my aluminum rad.

terrible one

Wow I like the fact that that one is so much lower profile. I have heard about lots of clearance issues with the clutch fan, particularly the viscous setup. Do you happen to have the part number for that clutch you used?

Its the Hayden 2765 Jaquar fan clutch. I got it at UAP/NAPA.
