Who on this show, is going to really know what is stock and was is "correct" is my thought.  Why is a  2nd Gen 1970 Charger (same body style as 68-69) excluded ?  :brickwall:

Jackie, if it wasn't for the fact that I would have to take time off from work, spend money for hotels and fuel, be away from my family, and then possibly have something happen to my car once it gets on set, I would have gladly trailered it down to TN if there was some kind of compensation for it.  The expenses that I would incur just to have my car POSSIBLY be on TV would not outweigh the media hype that my charger would get from being on national TV.  Now, if they were to pay all of my expenses to get me and my car down there, I would certainly consider it without a doubt.  But like someone else said, with all the sponsorships that Spike has for all of these shows, I can't see why they can't hand out a little money for a car they would want to appear on the show since they are getting money to operate the show.  To me, having a car on the show is just another prop expense.
I don't blame you. That would be one expensive trip. I know when Shelby was on movie sets.  They fed everyone all day. Plus paid our hotel. And paid her.  :shruggy:

I'd like to use my car but I'm way up in Detroit. Plus don't think I Qualify, ugly brown in color, a 1970, ripped up front seat & recent slight accident to left front :scratchchin: :shruggy:  LEON.

Chargerrtforme

I agree with if you come to me you can use my car. What about  the guy that heads down there and while he's left  his family and spent money to go there they take someone else. No thanks.

drifter69

My car is undergoing a full resto by the experts! Mabey he would like to bring his show on the road? You can find my car at the state prison in Buena Vista, Colorado. I sure the fellas would love to hang out.  :D

HOTROD

MAN I wish my car was done damit  :brickwall: u guys sound like a bunch of women winey asses !!

I guess I'm out. Although my car is more correct than many R/T's that I've seen it's not a real R/T. It does have a correctly dressed 440, correct 18 spline console shifted 4 speed, a correct 3:54 geared dana 60, correct suspension, correct exhaust, and is 100% restored interior including the rallye dash with re-silk screen gauges with a correctly working tic toc tach, totally crazy with correct detail items, but it's black. Black vinyl top, black paint, black interior, black, black black. I'm sure someone will step up and make us Mopar guys proud with some TV time devoted to our beloved Chargers. Good luck in your search and thanks for wanting a Mopar for your show!

Looks like a good canidate to me :scratchchin:  LEON.

You gonna haul that thing 18 hours from Lewiston to TN? :o
Been there , done that.

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

472 R/T SE

Bill, with his black V code '70 Charger R/T is right there in Tennessee.  His car has been in many rags' & is an absolute beauty.  All factory correct & #'s matching if I remember correct.

But alas, it's black & a '70.

At the sake of dog piling, if you want the vibrant, high impact colors you need to include the 1970 model year.

Bill's car.  Can't remember if it's a 3 pedal car?

jhutcheson

Hey Guys,

Let me just clear up a few misconceptions about this show.  The owner will be the only one driving the car...period.  We do not take them for joyrides.  The shoot lasts from about 8:30-5:30 and will be in the owner's possession the entire time.  The car that is chosen for the segment will be featured in the segment.  There is no risk of it ending up "on the cutting room floor."

Yes we do make money off this show...that's how we earn a living.  But car shows make money off your car, too, and you pay them to enter your car--and in return, you usually just get a trophy, if you're lucky.  We are devoting a professional TV crew to your car, which in itself is very expensive.  At the end of it all, you will have a one-of-a-kind video all about your car and it will be shown on national TV.  I think that's a pretty sweet deal.

As for knowing whether its stock or not, a lot of that is left up to the owner to prove.  Most bring documents with them like Marty reports and such.  I also do more research on the car to double check and I consult with other owners, like on this forum.

One other thing, I will open this up to '70 Chargers.  I thought we had done one already, but we haven't.  We'll cover the 3rd Gen Chargers another time, but we did just do a feature on the '71 Charger Super Bee.  Hope you caught it.

Thanks,
James "Hutch" Hutcheson

Like Mike, Mine is Orange has the 440 With a 5-SPEED, and looks pretty good... However, it has a big "01" on both doors, and a Huge Confederate flag on the roof so I'm out..
