Hudson Hornet !

I just decoded my 1968 fender tag and one of the options was body belt moldings.  What are they?
You've never heard of a Hudson hornet ? !

That is the trim that runs along the bottom of the side windows, on the top of your doors and along the quarters till it curls up and around to meet the drip rail trim cap.   ;)

Just 6T9 CHGR

They are the chrome moldings on the tops of the doors & quarters...

EDIT---beat me to it Neal   :2thumbs:

Also a small visual as well (these are 69 codes but the moldings are the same)

Chris' '69 Charger R/T

One picture is much better than 35 words, a comma and a period!  :2thumbs:

Thats what I was wondering, didn't all 2nd Gen Chargers have the belt mouldings?

Yes, they did - at least in '68-9 and I think it was the same for '70 also (that 1970 XH model had a few quirks though).  It was Standard Equipment for the most part, and to my knowledge you couldn't eliminate them when they came standard.

M25 Wide Sill mouldings were an extra-cost option though.

Great picture, Chris!

Correct Gene,...I had a 70 XH model that didn't have them,...it was a "Spring special" coded model,...basically stripper model

Was that the one that the 1/4 windows were pop out not roll down?   :scratchchin:

DAY CLONA

I never saw a Charger that had "pop-out" or fixed windows, my car had bare bones minimum, benchseat/auto on the column, clock delete plate, 318/904  PS, that's it no trim on the car other than emblems, non remote drivers mirror, 14" wheelcovers

Does anyone have a pic of a Charger without the belt moldings?
Would look strange imo.
Gotta love a '69

Mine was the same 318/904 but had cruise, air, tinted, PS, PB, buckets w console, AM, ect. kinda loaded. I read some where about an economy package with pop outs and no belt line. I'll be the first to admit I could be wrong but until recently I thought padded door and rear uppers were standard.

Mine had Painted upper door and rear sections,....radio was deleted, rear package tray had no speaker slots, clear glass all around....10" manual drums,...about as plain Jane as you could get

The belt molding was stock on the Chargers, but an option on the other B bodies (and the Chrysler world did not revolve around the Charger). There are plenty of B bodies with roll down rear windows and no belt moldings.
