I 2nd that!

Darkman

General rule of thumb,

If they list personal reasons to sell the car, then they are trying to pull a swifty.

Why do I need to know why he is selling? Do I care if he is having a baby or not?

Price and condition will sell the car.....

Definitely seen the car for what it is worth and wants to recover some of the losses.
Make it idiot proof, and somebody will make a better idiot!

If you think Education is difficult, try being stupid!

Old Moparz

He shouldn't be bragging about who built the car if he wants to sell it.   :smilielol:

The ad &
it's meaning.....

I HAVE A 1969 DODGE CHARGER GENERAL LEE RT CLONE. THE CAR WAS BUILT IN CHICAGO AT LUEDTKE AUTO GROUP INC. THEY DID THE BODY WORK AS WHERE I DID ALL THE ENGINE, TRANSMISSION, AND DRIVE SHAFT WORK.

I bought a POS 1969 Charger from that guy in Chicago who should be in jail. The paint is the only thing holding the seats in when you make a turn. I had to replace the engine, the transmission, & find a driveshaft for it since it fell out on the way here when shipped in the middle of the night.

I HAVE NEARLY $ 23,000 INVESTED IN THE CAR BUT DUE TO HAVING A BABY DUE IN A FEW WEEKS AND OTHER BILLS I,M DOING A QUICK SELL TO PROVIDE FOR HER.

I spent $23,000 for the car, got an estimate for $23,000 for body work, another $23,000 for mechanical work, & decided to cut my losses since my wife reminded me we'll have to buy diapers & formula for a couple of years.

HERE ARE THE DETAILS ON THE CAR
BODY WORK AND PAINT DONE IN CHICAGO BY LUEDTKE AUTO GROUP, THEY DID THE CARS FOR THE WARNER BROTHERS MOVIES. BODY WISE CAR IS SOLID. NO FRAME RUST OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT. EVERYTHING SEEMS TO BE FINE ON BODY AND PAINT.

Here's what I am hoping you won't find out:
Body work & paint was done in the typical Luedtke fashion by using plastic garbage cans & duct tape as a cheaper method than bondo. They all watched Warner Bros. cartoons during break time building this POS. There isn't any frame left to rust since the car was dragged out of the swamp it's been in since 1978. Everything is so bad on the body & paint that I wish I was blind so I couldn't see what I bought.

AS FOR THE ENGINE WORK THAT I HAVE DONE, ITS A 400 ENGINE OUT OF A 1963 NEW YORKER. I HAD IT STRIPPED DOWN TO THE BLOCK AND EVERYTHING WAS REBUILT ON IT. IT STILL NEEDS WIRES AND HOSES RAN TO IT BUT THAT IS IT. THE RADIATOR HAS BEEN LOOKED OVER AND FIXED SO IT'S GOOD TO DO. THE TRANSMISSION IS A 727 AUTOMATIC THAT WAS REBUILT. THE  DRIVE SHAFT IS ALSO GOOD TO GO.

As for the engine work, it's a complete 400 block. All it needs is wires, hoses, heads, crank, cam, pistons, rods, valves, lifters, pushrods, rocker shafts, bolts, & mounts since it's held to the K-frame with zip ties right now. The radiator was looked over since I was standing in front so I could see what the motor needed for the ad. The transmission is might be a 727 or it could be from a Boeing 727, not sure. The drive shaft is also good to go in the scrap pile too.

A FEW THINGS ARE LEFT TO BE DONE ON THE CAR SUCH AS EXHAUST NEEDS RAN FOR THE CAR, BRAKE LINES NEED RAN, AND A SHIFTER CABLE IS NEEDED FOR THE UNDERNEATH OF THE CAR, WHERE I SWITCHED IT FROM A COLUMN SHIFT TO A FLOOR SHIFT.

A few things are left to be done on the car such as everything below the Confederate flag on the roof, everything behind the front bumper, & everything in front of the rear bumper. You should assume there are no brake lines, no shifter cable, & anything needed to either make it a column or floor shift.

THE INTERIOR IS NEW AND DONE IN TAN (EXCEPT THE CARPET ON THE FLOOR IS BLACK) THE DASH IS IN GOOD SHAPE AND IS ORIGINAL. ALSO HAS THE ORIGINAL CHROME TRIM ON THE CAR AND ORIGINAL CHROME BUMPERS.

The interior was new when the car was new in 1969 & done in tan with 138 cans of tan Rustoleum, including the carpet. Make sure you bring wax paper with you when you sit in it since the paint hasn't dried completely & you don't want to stick to anything. It's only been a week since the Rustoleum was applied inside, but it should be dry in another 2 weeks. The dash is in good shape now, I can't believe the way a good build up & sandable primer looks like padding from a few feet away. All the chrome trim is on the car as well as the bumpers because it rusted in place & couldn't be removed.

ANY OTHER QUESTIONS PLEASE CONTACT CHARLES AT 606-694-0803, OR MY EMAIL IS CROWBROT_44@YAHOO.COM
PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING. BUYER IS IN CHARGE OF SHIPPING IF CHOSEN TO DO SO OR CAN BE PICKED UP. I CAN HELP WITH SHIPPING BUT BUYER MUST PAY FOR IT.
ALSO THE TRUNK HAS EXTRA PARTS IN IT FROM THINGS I WORKED ON, THERE IS 2 DISC BRAKES, A STEERING COLUMN, AND EXTRA FRONT VALANCE BUMPER, HEADERS, AND AN EXTRA 01 STICKER KIT.

Any other questions please don't ask or I will not be able to keep a straight face. Also, the plywood that is holding things in the trunk has parts from a bunch of Camaros. You can have it with the Charger since I don't need it & can't get to the scrap yard. The extra 01 sticker is in case you reach up & poke a hole through the one on the top of the car that is acting as the roof.

Just 6T9 CHGR

Shame that car was a "variance" V08 coded car.....an odd ball.

It was T3 Light Bronze Metallic with a green interior & green top.  kinda :puke: -ish but odd.

Looking at the 69 dealer trim book, you can see T3 & green was NOT recommended BUT acceptable.   Ordering this got you the V08 variance code on the tag (possibly had to sign a release form as well when ordering saying "no backsies")

Man, those upper door pads are nasty! Unfortunately, I can't imagine that car selling for anywhere near what he wants. I'm sure he overpaid and if he really does need to sell it he's going to lose a ton of money (but probably less than it would take to try to fix it).

Troy
Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

I got dibbs on the two piece rotors in the trunk, i already e-mailed asking for them separately from the car.  So dont you guys even ask!  Its like calling "shotgun" on the way to the car with your friends after you're outside walking towards it.   :yesnod:

a perfect example of "known cars" that were mentioned in another thread about broadcast sheets............ hey, maybe i could sell him a broadcast sheet to help pay for my new engine............

paint - mauve and black
powder coat wheels - mauve and black
total wiring

engine - 520/540, eddy heads, 6pak

well if the 426 HEMI is the "Elephant"

and the 440 is the "Magnum" or "Wedge"

and the 440 Six-Pack is the "Six-Pack"....  :shruggy:

then the 400 is known as the "Boat Anchor"

Old Moparz - Classic.

6T9 - Very interesting about the V08 variance.  I never would have known.

Could be a 413. I thought the 392 Hemi was known as the Boat Anchor :scratchchin:  LEON.

I think if the guy knows what the car is or is trying to be dishonest, he wouldnt be telling everyone that it is a Leudtke car.

I think he actually thinks its a good thing. Notice he mentions that Leudtke did the cars for Warner Bros?

He bought their story hook, line, and sinker.

mauve66

413 and 392 could make some power, its the wide (big) block 318 thats the real boat anchor, at least the 400 has stroker kits available
