beatiful job ....couple things ive never understood so dont take this wrong way but why do some ppl dump mad money into general lee replicas making them show quality and then they make the eng compartments look stock and do the interior black? i know anyone can paint one orange and add the decals but i think it takes a lil something to go with the tan interior?

First of Welcome to the site.

If you read through this thread you will see that this car is only destined to be a genaral for a period of time and then when he gets that out of his system he can peel off the decals and have a nice Charger.
68 Charger R/t white with black v/t and red tailstripe. 440 4 speed ,black interior
68 383 auto with a/c and power windows. Now 440 4 speed jj1 gold black interior .
My Charger is a hybrid car, it burns gas and rubber............

Because some people (like myself) think that a tan interior is  :puke:

Welcome to the site...I believe others have answered your question.  But to put it in my words...my Charger is NOT a replica, it is my creation.  I love the 2nd Gen body style and think they look awesome in black, B5 blue and Orange.  I grew up with the Dukes (as did my wife) and when I purchased the Charger and was deciding on a color...it wasn't much of a decision.  In my wife's words..."your painting that car Orange and that's it"!

Plus, I already have a black 69 Camaro SS and B5 '09 Challenger SRT already.  So I needed something different.  Orange with black interior and the black R/T stripe on the rear looks great (IMO) and is very 60's muscle car.

As for the "General" uniform...who doesn't want to drive the "General" around for awhile?  I think that list is very small...so I am having fun for now.

Who knows it might last longer then I expect. :2thumbs:

Well she is almost 100% complete.  In an effort to work though last minute adjustments, Josh thought it would be a good idea if I took her this past weekend and put some miles on her.  As you can imagine this turned out to be a great idea.  Sure I found a few items needing attention but it was so cool to finally have her in my garage and show her off!  The best part was taking my son for rides with me.  He was so excited about riding in the "real General Lee" as he kept saying and asking me to push the horn (like 1,000 times).  It finally felt like I made the right decision 16 months ago to sell my 67 Corvette so I could do afford to do this Charger.  This Charger is definetly going to be alot more fun to share with my family then that two seater Chevy could ever have been..lol
It was a little disappointing dropping her back off at this shop tonight.  Anyway, here are a few photo's from the weekend:

My son (a huge General Lee fan due to Daddy's brain washing) was super excited to come along for the first drive home.

Had a custom General Lee - Lightening McQueen made for my son so we both got General's that day.  Came out pretty cool.

Here she is at my brother's house toward the end of the first day.

First night at home

Hopefully I'll have her back next weekend and she'll be all done!  When I get her back, I'll post a video of driving her.  Thought about doing that this weekend but was too busy enjoying the moment.

Took the General to it's first show this past weekend (Mirror Lake Classic).  Incredible response, no less then 1,000 pictures were taken with it which was crazy.  Very nerve racking for me though.  Next show I'll put a barrier around the car so folks don't get too close. Everyone enjoyed it which as nice to see.   I also won two out of 16 ribbons which was pretty cool.  My Dad took a few pictures, enjoy:

I absolutley love the boards located next to the car when you showed it.. It will help you avoid the stupid questions most people will ask.. That is if they can read. The car shows awsome and I can tell by the pictures your very happy with the car.. I have been following the build and as another GL owner that is half as nice as yours you did all of us proud... Congrats!

Bobby41909

Here's a close up on the boards and dash plaque I had made.  These came out awesome IMO.  A friend of mine is a semi retired graphic artist and he does this kind of stuff on the side if anyone is interested.  The first two are 24x26 and the last one is 11x8.

Great job.. If you look at the last pic of the Dukes and Daisy on the roof you can see the passenger door is open, thought they were welded

Plus, just so you all know, that photo, is a promo photo, an that Lee is Lee3 the first Lee to be built up in CA, but 3rd car down in GA to be used for filming hench "Lee3". Sadly that car was killed off in "The Meeting" over the 2nd black limo jump they did in that episode.

The promo photo also shows the car with no "01's" either in that photo. Look at Tom Wopat sides on the door.. no numbers. Only the roof had the flag an text on. That car was original factory tan an had ac. All they did was paint the car orange. It was a F5 factory color originally.

Not sure if it's been posted, but I found this while searching this morning...

Your signs are funny, almost identical to those I was "forced" to make up last year due to all of the STUPID ASS QUESTIONS I got asked.
