Keep'em coming, it looks AWESOME!!!

Bobby41909

Another visit to the shop.  Still waiting on parts so its going slow but the windsheild is in...! Plus all the locks were installed and Josh gave me the keys...(can't wait til it runs)

Troy

Looks good!

You might want to get the inside of the doors painted before doing too much more interior installation.

Troy
Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

WB General Lee

Very nice! Looking forward to seeing the finished product.

They are painted  :icon_smile_big:

I know they are supposed to match the door panels, but I love the look of the Orange sticking through inside there.

I have a feeling he planned it that way.

Bobby41909

Yes I know about the Orange showing from the doors.  I think it's going to match the orange "R/T Charger" printed on my black floormats nicely.  I've seen it both ways and I like the way it looks.  I can always change it later if it gets old.

I think to realistic it's going to be early to mid April based on how long it's taking to get some parts.  It still needs to go back to the paint shop to fix a few things and get its final polishing.  I'll let you know..I plan on driving it as much as possible when its done.....that's why I put A/C in it!   Holiday is only a few minutes away so you'll have to let me know when they are.

On that Note, my Rotary is putting on a Charity Car Show at John Chestnut Park on April 16th.  You should enter your ride.  I'd like to have as many mopars as possible.  Follow this link: http://www.eastlakerotary.org/carshow2011.html

Steve P.

Wish I could enter my ride. I would have to bring it on the trailer though. hahahaha... My 65' is still in many parts and pieces.

I couldn't stop Saturday, but there was a cruise in show on 19 in Palm Harbor at one of the restaurants.

Also, the next time I get an email from the show I use to go to I will let you know. Lots of nice rides there of all brands. Nice people running it too... I will let you know...  :2thumbs:

Believe me I've thought of that alot lately.  Originally this wasn't going to be this nice of a restoration (really nice driver). But my original plan had flaws I didn't account for.  Now try to follow along:

First, although I have other classic cars, the 69 Charger has always been the car of my dreams (Desire).  I just couldn't store it until now (69 Camaro and 67 Corvette are alot shorter) so they fit in my old garage.  New house...so now I can store it...yeah!  Second, my buddy who has a restoration shop does amazing work and I suspect due to our friendship is going above and beyond on this build.  I bought both the Camaro & Corvette basically restored.  I (really Josh) just did little things to them like motor, trans and stereo work.  Third, my business provided extra $$$ that I originally didn't anticipate.

When I got the car we moved in the direction of the original plan.  Little by little I "upgraded" items not in the original plan.  That kept happening because I wanted this car to be the best (Desire), the work Josh was doing was coming out awesome (Ability) and the added $$$ was fuel on the fire.  Over time that combination was like a "Perfect Storm"......Desire...Ability...Resources....I just couldn't say no or help myself....and now I can't wait until she's done.  It's going to be just awesome...a Brand new '69 Charger.  Like I was 18 in '69 (actually born in '73) and walked into a dealership and bought the best one on the lot (without a Hemi of course)...

Unfortunately, we stripped the car and sent it to the paint shop within the first week I had the car.  Until it got back (4 months) Josh worked on building the Motor, transmission and rearend.  So although I've made alot of these "upgrades" within the last few months the motor and related drivetrain were done long before that.  If not, I am sure it would have a 426 sitting in it.

I suspect it won't be too long before I do an engine swap but first my Camaro needs some attention and  I want to put a supercharger in my '09 Challenger (daily driver).  So the 512 (440) will have to do for now....

Plus my wife will kill me if I tell her I want to drop $15k on another motor when our sons (2 yr old) College fund isn't fully funded.... :smilielol:

Bobby41909

Stopped by the shop, a few little things have been done.

Speakers were installed

Rear trim was installed

Sunvisors installed

Rearview mirror

The seats should be done by the end of the week and the new plastic gauge bezel, shifter linkage and tic tic tach should arrive also so the interior can be completed...yeah...finally!

Bobby41909

Another update.  We finally have everything (I hope) so Josh will start back up next week on finishing her.  Got the seats back and they looks awesome! :2thumbs:

We're getting close...just a few more weeks and I should be driving her!

Steve P.

VERY COOL... Seats look great....

so..i'll follow along with your thread and take all the notes i can. :)

That is just HORRIBLE. You would have been better off putting that beautiful Charger into a crusher than paint it that ugly colour and put those decals on it. Seriously....HOW COULD YOU, wasting a perfectly good car  ( :insertsarcasm: :ohhthesarcasm: )

That is one very nice resurrection! Keep up the great work and photos
Make it idiot proof, and somebody will make a better idiot!

Your charger is looking great and coming along nicely. Looking forward to seeing it finished.

It's inspiring me to get a few things done to mine, although my budget is a bit on the tight side.
