I agree! It's one hell of a price tag for a matchbox car to stare at in your garage.

But, personally, if I had that kind of money to buy that car, I would drive it, without a doubt and without remorse.  :yesnod:

I wouldn't be able to resist. Even if that meant pulling the original 5,600 mile instrument cluster and sticking in a non-original odometer to cover up my indiscretion!!!  :D

Oh wait - I think that's illegal.  :icon_smile_wink:

pretty car, but i don't trust the whole "nut and bolt rotisserie restoration" on a car with 5600 original miles....probably just me though.....

No, it's not just you..... I can't fathom why someone in their right mind would TOUCH a 5600 mile original car, let alone do a full 'nut & bolt' resto.....

Playing devils advocate here. It may have only driven 5600 miles but ya never know what happened during those miles or how it was stored during/after. No indication of its life in the ad. Maybe it was parked outside for several years and the mice and some rot got to it?  :shruggy:

For those looking at buying it I would hope that the resto process was documented though.

I guess if I was selling a half-million dollar Hemi car, I'd have some decent photos of the engine.

I was more questioning why it would need restoration with such low mileage, because I would expect original paint to be worth much more, but thanks for being a smart ass :2thumbs:

Wasn't trying to be a smart ass at all.... unless like bakerhillpins pointed out, it may have been stored poorly for a lengthy period of time, why would you do a rotisserie resto on a 5600 mile original Hemi car? It just doesn't make sense to me..... :shruggy:
I would think that price would be a lot easier to justify on a 5600 mile untouched original as opposed to something that's been restored!

in all honesty, i didn't think about the possibility that it may have been rotting into the ground when it was restored.  I believe I may have misunderstood what you were saying (isn't the impersonality of the internet wonderful?) and I apologize for calling you a smart ass :icon_smile_big:

maybe all those miles were put on 1/4 mile at a time?   :icon_smile_big:

I agree, Nacho.

That's a lot of money and it could be a scam for all I know. I just thought it was an absolutely awesome looking car. Love the black with white stripes, the Shaker hood, the four-speed, and the Hemi.

Even if it is a 5,600 mile original, I don't think he'll get what he's asking for it. If it required a full blown restoration, that thing must have been ridden hard and put up wet.

The pictures of the Challenger outside definitely isn't Houston, looks to be the Hill Country of Texas........

just a question... why master cilinder and booster are painted ? shouldn't be unpainted and Goldish cadmiun ( if thast the name of that process ) treated respectivelly

If I'm not mistaken, I think the booster and master cylinder were painted black as an assembly, so the cap & bail should be black.  Could be wrong, but I think that's the case.

My guess is that the pictures outside in the "Texas Hill Country" were taken some time back, before the owner was told about the errant cad plated master cylinder lid.

Heck, I'm as impressed with the shop as I am the car (and the car's pretty nice)   :o

Yes sir - Booster and master were shipped (from Bendix) as a completely painted assembly - bail wire, vacuum valve and all.
