First time trying to start engine, hooked everyhting up started to put water in it and the water started running out the pass. side header bolt the second one back from front. When i put headers in months ago that bolt gave me troubble, the way the header is made it made it impossible to get that bolt in so i left it out thinking the gasket would seal but did not get that far because when i put water in it the water ran out that bolt hole. So i went on line and googled hooker procomp 2 headers and said with 383/440 engines you might have to massage the header at that point to get the bolt in straight so what ia'm asking is what have other people done to massage their headers to work?  car 69 charger 383 hooker procomp.2 headers thanks  tom

that bolt goes straight into a water passage. mine leaked too after bolting it up. i may have just been lucky, but i tape threaded the bolts, then backed the header away from the head starting the bolts then sucked it in. if the bolt doesnt line up straight with the header an inch away from the heads, guess someone else will have to answer.

A body work hammer will be effective in contorting the pipe to where the bolt will go in straight :2thumbs:

Can i masage the header with it in the car, or should i just take it out? it looks to be a bitch to get the header out also i was thinking on going to specialty store to get a bolt that has a shorter head on it and try to get the bolt straight while the header is an inch away. That is the problem my bolt is not straight inside the header well i just got back from work so i will try tomorrow to fire this badboy up  thanks  tom
