Today I was looking for the backup/ NSS harness that goes from the bulkhead connector in the engine bay (i think) to the NSS and whatever else for my 1968.

I looked at YearOne and came across HU232N but it says it is only for late '68 models and all 69s. The trans I have is a '68 model 727 with a new 3 prong NSS. Would this harness work for me?

Thanks!

The 3 prong switch uses the 69 style harness. You will likely get a better deal from MegaParts though 608 452 2045

Thanks so much! Also, I appreciate the MegaParts number! Wiring harnesses are the ONLY thing I've gone to Y1 for and I guess I had it in my head that they were the only game in town for the harnesses . . . maybe it's just the dash harnesses?

That said, will I need to do anything else to accomodate using the '69 style harness?

Also, out of curiosity, what did the 68's do for backup/ nss wiring and why is it so different?

68  Had a separate nss and bu switch. The nss was just a single post at the transmission and the bu switch was on the column on a column shift ,on the floor shifter on a console auto, and the 4 gear is a completely different set too.

What year did the change in the auto shifter fork fingers change?
(The part inside the trans that contacts the nss)
