Right side gas filler flip cap

If you had the piece to weld in and mount a flip gas cap on the right side would you do it?  Its a 68 so no letters to factor in.  I have it sitting on the quarter and can turn the cap either way. I have the "hole" set so the filler tube would mount at the correct angle if it was to be used which I am not.   Thoughts? :shruggy:

What about where it goes into the gas tank at? Is that also on the right side?

To use a filler tube you need a piece of left side trunk floor and the left side of a junk gas tank to weld in on the right side of the new one

I'd put the hinge towards the front of the car, latch towards the back.  That way, if left unlatched, it won't wind up functioning as an "air brake".

If it were me, I wouldn't do it.

The right side would just be a decoy but match the left side :smilielol: :smilielol:

Usually I go for symmetry if given a choice but I don't think it complements the body by doing that. But it's not my car. Somewhere there is a pic of it.

Wasn't it also in the initial design plans to have one on each side?

I plan on doing it, why not?

It looks good in my opinion, but I'd make it functional.
