Didn't we hash this out (are they open/not) previously?  Like a month or two ago.

Oh well, sounds like they're toast now.

Damn, I too regret that the Anti-Christ (YO) has buried its largest competitor.

derailed

Looks like they will be auctioning the remaining inventory if anyone is from the area. Maybe some good deals will be found.

Saw some of their cars at the Mecum auction. I'll have to attend, they are pretty close.

It is obvious looking at that auction site what is going on. They are leaving all that stuff up and running so the name and such is valuable. If they shut it down, thousands of people would remove it from their favorites and the web search engines would treat it as new. So they are buying time. But as of now, The Paddock is gone. Maybe someone will buy the name and it will be a new company with an old name.

QuoteKey Auctioneers Senior Vice President Tim Boeglin said the company's intellectual property was garnering a high degree of interest. Included in the intellectual property are the company's name and trademarks, million-name customer list, websites, catalogs, and phone numbers.

THE STIG

wow this is an old thread, but I just learned I was gonna be bummed because they're close enough that I could drive there pick up and save on shipping but I guess that was'nt an option anyway. I just hope thier layed off staff can find new employment.

If you look around, it goes even farther back. I first posted after a guy I knew that worked there showed up and there were police and lawyers in the parking lot and the door were locked.

No worries Burger King Diamond, them being an advantage as we would save shipping was gone two or so years ago.

I intended to go to the auction but got tied up with somthing else. A dude I work with went and he said I didn't miss much.

I'm not too surprised, they were really just a middleman so I don't think they stocked any more product than they absolutely had to.  I would think the auction would be office equipment and shelves and only as many car parts that were still in warehouse unsold (and as said, my guess is few).

Yes, they were a middleman, but up until a couple years ago they had a very extensive in stock inventory. Every catalog item was stocked there. Maybe just a couple while they drop shipped mail order, but they certainly kept an onhand inventory for local sales. That changed and probably helped do them in.
