....YUP.....2 OF 'EM, as a matter of fact !!

:smilielol: :smilielol:

Whilst recently delivering a '72 SE to Illinois.....[ http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,70872.0/all.html  ]....
I made the 'gaffe' of mentioning to "The Buyer" that I was keeping my eye out for a COMPLETE and newer 5.7 liter Hemi setup...

Long story short, 'The Buyer' referred me to a Classified Ad here, and The Seller of it turned out to also be the
Administrator here....

WE ALL KNOW HIM AS "TROY":

When the dust had cleared, I had logged an extra 690 miles on the Ram Hemi I was driving (St. Louis Area to Cincinnati area and back again), AND had an extra 5.7 Hemi complete--and I mean COMPLETE, with 30k on its clock--in the bed of
the Hemi Ram to take back with me to California via Oklahoma.

Thanks for the referral, Daytona R/T SE...your 'referral' turned what had been a "'duty to deliver" 3600 plus mile trip--complete with it's own Wild Saga--into a very productive adventure for me (in addition of course to getting to meet you AND our illustrious leader)...
and of course, a further-depleted wallet !!....... :smilielol: :smilielol: :smilielol:.....

See....something good always comes out of nearly everything !! Thanks Troy and Chris !!
Now I just have to figure out what I'm going to put the thing in....

:scratchchin: :scratchchin: :scratchchin: :scratchchin:

NOW IT'S BACK ENROUTE TO CA, VIA OKLAHOMA (FOR A QUICK VEHICLE SWAP):

Yeah, the black Ram belongs to my life-long buddy in Oklahoma, who loaned me it for the last leg of my 1860 mile journey....so the Hemi in the back gets transferred to my 98 Ram 2500, and...

The car trailer (co-owned by my OK buddy and I) gets left in OK and I'll be draggin' my 88 Laser fishing boat back to "the Left Coast" to work on the electric end of it.

But, what's next on the agenda--when I get back home--is to finish up the little goodies left to do on my 66 Charger Fastback (the one in my sig pic with the 440 Six Pack in it) and put it on the market....
the original "buyer" backed out of the deal.

Who knows what I'll end up outa that deal ?

As for the Challenger shirt....it might have something to do with a certain yellow Challenger with a 440 Six Pack of it's own that Senor Troy was sportin' about !!!

Jerry, hurry up and write the book, then take it to Hollywood.

This adventure you've been on would make a great road trip movie !

We've already picked out the actor to play your part!  :coolgleamA:

I'm thinking that Troy likes driving E bodies more than B bodies.

Funny thing about the shirt...

I've been on a roll for the last couple summers where the shirt I'm wearing never matches the car I'm driving. It really makes people do a double-take. Any way, that was the first time I had on a shirt that matched the car.

Aah, Geez, Nacho !!....I've been trying to FORGET the "Nacho Across America Tour 08"....thanks for reminding
my arse....

Starting with the pre-trip, right through the 4 mpg for the first tank, the wipers, arthritis in the feet flare-up,
"Gummer" in Rayeville, LA, drive-line/u-joint overhaul at Brocks, re-routed 3 times across the Arizona/CA state line....and on and on and on and on.....

Yeah...that would make another Volume in my Series ("I'm Retired, Not Retarded")....
once I get out of therapy !!.... :smilielol: :smilielol: :smilielol: :smilielol:.....

So, I guess the "66 Charger Delivery That Wasn't/aka A 72 SE For Daytona RT/SE Delivery Saga" (aka: "Gotta Have Troy's Hemi")
will now have to be Volume III of the series, eh?

:D :D

I wish I could agree with you there, Natch....but believe it or not, this last adventure made 'The 08 Tour' look
like a cakewalk....
Seriously, that's how much drama, trauma, mis-steps and mis-cues it had....

:scratchchin: :scratchchin: :scratchchin:
...those type of 'adventures' seem to draw me like a magnet....

Must be my cologne..... :shruggy:....
