I am installing an 8pt in my 3rd gen and I want to build it similar to firefighter3931 roll cage I would like to at least get the basic pre bent pieces and what not. So I was wondering if there are any universal kits with a bunch of stuff I can use. I was going to just pay someone to do it but theres no way I am spending that kinda money....wife would kill me cuz she knows I can just do it myself.

What Ive heard about the pre made roll bars is that they do NOT fit very well, so youll most likely end up spending as much or more money than having a shop custom fit a roll bar into your car... also a custom made roll bar will look and function much better and not to forget, it will probably be safer in a crash to...

Then again its up to you... Here is one http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CEE-3128-K/

Hands down the best fitting rollbar is from S&W Racing.  :2thumbs: I ordered mine with the "pro-street" rear bar option so that the rear bars would follow the roof line and make for a cleaner installation. My chassis guy said that this was by far the best kit he's ever installed and he's done hundreds of them over the past 30 years.

I had him bend the door bars to make it easier to access the cockpit and it's still NHRA legal to 10.0 ET  :icon_smile_big:

hey Ron could you post some pics of your cage installed? i'd really like to see it and how it's setup. can you still access the back seat or is it to hard for any back seat riders to fit in?

ron did you get it as a kit or did you have them install it? I asked them about gettting one put in and they said $2500. If could get a kit that would be awsome ill have to hittem up to see if they got one.

Here is an old thread with some pics. Yes, the back seat is accessible.  :2thumbs:

I had mine installed locally by a chassis builder. Rollbar, subframe connectors and LCA box plate installation was $600 for labor. The rollbar kit in mild steel with the pro-street bars was ~ $275 if i remember correctly. S&W does make kits for your car...just call them.  ;)
