My brother has been looking for a 69 Coronet for sometime now to replace the one he sold in high school.  He sent me this link of one thats in our area and was wondering what you guys think its worth.

I was thinking around 7 or 8 thousand would be fair what do you guys think, its been awhile since I've looked at Coronets so any help would be great??

Thanks

I think 7 or 8 would be a steal. I have a 68 Coronet thats not as nice as that and I wouldnt sell it for less than 10 thousand. Thats a sharp looking car and I would guess would bring close to double of what you posted if its as nice and clean as seller says it is.

I don't think it's a steal, but I do think $7000 is a price I would pay if all else is really good.

I love 318s, it could be great as a driver, but not more than 7k. This is assuming that it has an excellent driveline, no rust, good brakes. It might be overpriced already at 5k if there are problems. Good luck. :popcrn:

Thanks for the replies guys and it looks like 68coronet is the closest so far the buyer is asking $14,000 firm.

So with that I'm guessing my brother will probably pass on the Coronet as of now but who knows for sure i guess.

Thanks and anymore input will be greatly appreciated.

I think it's a steal at $7,000/$8,000.   I would agree with the other comments of project cars.  If the care is rust free with no issues, $10k would be a fair price. You never know what you have when you take the clothes off, but if the quarters/frame/doors/fenders are solid, I would pay $10k for it if I was in the market.  If it needed the before mentioned, then $7k.  Just my  :Twocents:...

See if you can get photos from the underside. Looks solid and that is worth checking out, just keep in mind what you don't know yet will set the price.

Well thanks again guys and I talked to my and still sounds interested and its not to far from home so will probably go check it out and see how she looks in person at least.

I noticed that too.  The engine compartment needs major attention.  This is a base Coronet 440 model 318 car with a couple Super Bee emblems thrown on.  Someone seriously jacked up the hood as the scoops on the fake Ramcharger hood are way to close.  If rust free, $7-10 grand may be a may be a fair price.

IMO, he'll be sitting on it for a long time for 14K.  Nothing is selling up there now.

Well how about this one (mine).  Been contemplating selling it since I'm doing the Superbird Clone and it doesn't get driven much any more.  At one time I would have traded it around for a wing clone. I've seen prices all over the place but what they're actually getting for them is something else. I know it's a rough time to sell but it's paid for and I don't have to let it go.  I would like to see some opinions though so what ya think since it falls in the topic? It won't hurt my feelings.  A little info.  It's a real R/T.    Strong rebuilt 440 and rebuilt 18 spline 4 speed.  Most all the other mechanicals have been rebuilt/replaced.  The motor is a 67 or 68 block and it was originally an auto car. Factory A/C car but not hooked up.  I have the original Bulge hood which was painted with the car.  Has a couple of small bubble places on the lower qtrs to repair and trunk floor is borderline fix/repair/replace but other than that its pretty much good to go.  Without writing a full add but that's a little info. to base an estimate on guesses what maybe I should expect to ask when the time comes or at least a reserve to set on the Ebay route.    Had this car for almost 10 yrs and thought it would be my last until I bit the bullet to do the wing thing.  This time the RR will be my last  ;)

Nice RT!!!!!!!!!!  Looks like a fun car to drive!

It is fun and gets a lot of attention and got a stack of trophies from shows but I'm leaving the RR an auto.  I like the 4 spd but for my own use all these years later in everyday and sometimes heavy traffic I got to where I rather have an automatic.  When the tranny was gone through I put in a billet flywheel and Ram street/strip clutch setup.  After knee injuries, getting older, and etc, working that clutch appeal is not what it used to be.  I recently replaced that clutch and plate with one more for street use.  I'll miss it when its gone but I only need one car to keep my attention. Thanks for the compliment

If I was in the market for a '69 Coronet, I'd be all over oldcarnut's car... that is impressive! Although, non-original engine and the 4 speed conversion may hurt the value for the purists, it's still a sweet ride. The one the OP first put up is probably a 7K car, tops. It's a sheep in wolf's clothing.... calling it a clone of a Super Bee is a stretch, since it still sports the original 318 in the rattle can black engine bay- I would think a Super Bee 'clone' would at least need a 383 in there to back up the claim. It's only worth the 7K if the body is rust free, too... he's going to have it for a long time at 14K.

Here is a real bee for $17,000 in your area.  http://nd.craigslist.org/cto/1806103881.html

I remember that '69 Bee in Crookston from when I was in school.  An older lady lived a couple of doors down from a classmate of mine and we would see her drive it once in awhile.  We would walk down the alley and look in her garage window to see it, don't remember her ever leaving it out.  I hadn't thought of that car in over twenty years.

I agree!  I personally would ask mid $20s and work your way down if need be. :2thumbs:
