Anyone ever done it? If so do you have any tips, tricks or things you would do different the next time?

Several threads, do a search.

Tried a search first, got about 9k results for drip rail moldings & none for shaved rails. Thanks for the link, that is pretty much what I had in mind but I like to do a little checking before I dive off into something.

Just for that:

DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

suntech

Totally agree..........DO IT!!

A couple of things to keep in mind though: Make sure you have your windows correctly adjusted, and good weatherstrips.
With the isis system it should be possible ( assuming you have power windows) to make it like on modern cars, that drops the window a little when you open the door........ That would open up for using another style weatherstrip, that would seal a hell of a lot better! :scratchchin:
Since we only live once, and all this is not just a dressed rehearsal, but the real thing............ Well, enjoy it!!!!

DO IT!!! It makes the car look great

I don't like shaved driprails personally.

The visual effect is tiny and it's not reversible.

Honestly, IMO the visual effect is actually very significant - especially when you shave one side and leave the other...    look at one side and then the other you'll be saying "damn..   that's a huge difference" ---   and everything is reversible...    just not easily reversible    haha

I approve of this, I would have done it but I didn't really want the extra work. However in retrospect I think I should have done it. Oh well. I'm chopping up the car enough I suppose. It will just be less work for the guy who gets a hold of this car after I'm dead and wants to take it back to stock.
