1968 Charger

New to this so bare with me. Got this 68 charger of eBay at the end of April 2010, got it home around the first part of May. My son is Awesome (1HotDaytona) So I thought Id get a post started and probably should because nobody will believe where all the money is going including Hagerty even if I am an agent.     for them. I will have to condense the last couple months.

It started when he was a baby He recked my first 68 when it was out a day or two before he was 2. He was not allowed to drive then .

It did not have an engine with it so the first thing I did was get an engine done. A 69 440 steel crank .91104 roller timing chain.comp XE274H cam , Keith Black 236-KTM pistons, port and polished and balanced completed 5-21-2010
new hemi oil pan new flywheel and bell housing and 4 speed trans. 10.5 Zoom clutch.

then to get rid of that frog green and ugly 1/4 panel. Sand blast and start making the body nice. the floors are beautiful but the trunk had some pits and pin holes and the back valance was a Little crusty.

My son painted the engine for me. I  put the 1/4 on and repaired the other 1/4

Then to strippingand geting ready for primer sealer

I was  doing the sanding Saturday night but went into sunday morning. About 4:30 Am my wife called and asked what the hell was I doing so I finished and went home about 5:00 am cleaned up and went to sleep.    About 8:00 my son called and said are you going to mask this thing off so I can spray sealer. I did and that shows if you don't sleep you get a lot done but Now I feel like a little Chinaman assadragon.

Awesome work, I just got done doing exactly what you had to do. Man, the hours spent is mind blowing, but the end result is always worth it.

Thanks Cid it is a time eater and hands and arms look like I was in a cat fight. I did not count the spot welds but there are a lo of them.
