Hi , as we slowly massage this wreck of a car back into shape down here in Australia ,various problems crop up. Does anyone have information on the aluminum? spoiler/deflecter that bolts to the bottom of the nose. I believe Dave Patik sells repos but we may already have one. What we do have is 51 5/8 long @ the bolt on edge, its about 90 deg fold which will make it point almost straight down when attached . Does this sound correct

hemigeno

Yes, although the bend is not quite 90 degrees.  An original spoiler I have in my shop measures 51-9/16".

David Patik makes a very authentic-looking reproduction, and you can even get it with saw-tooth tooling marks still evident.

Patik also has the correct nose to spoiler hardware those threaded rivet inserts.I got a spoiler off my friends superbird from the 70-s his driveway took out. Spoiler still bolted to the rivets that ripped out of the nose

Thanks guys sounds like Tim and I have the right thing, again it needs a little work but can be matched to the nose cone. I think the nuts in the cone are regular thin sheet nutserts arnt they?    John

hemigeno

Yes, those would use nutserts, rivinuts, or whatever descriptive term you prefer.
