How many "clicks" does your switch make when you push it all the way?

If I remember, 3 speed wiper motors were the same as the variable ones on the 66-67 cars....

Do you have a pic of your wiper motor?

are you sure you have three speed wipers?  the motor 'can' sits flat against the firewall, while the can sticks straight out on two speed wipers.  Yes, three speed wipers were an option (and included with the A04 basic or "radio" group.)

the motors are plug-and-play from 1967 to 1970 for the b body.  they were used on C bodies, e bodies, j bodies, etc. with different wiring pigtails.  if you feel like switching wiring housing connectors you can just order one from a Cordoba or the like.

my 69  had a 3-speed motor....the three speed motor will be goldish in color  and sits parallel to the firewall....The two speed motor  sits more of an angle toward the front/driverside  and is usually black in color with a ballast resistor attached to it.  If you use the two speed motor in place of the three speed....the first click up  will be the high speed   and the rest of the clicks up will be the slower speed...but it will work.

You may want to hold onto your core in case you ever want to have it rebuilt in the future.  Also, the three speed wiper switches are hard to find whereas the two speed ones are more common.  As is always the case with old Mopars, never throw ANYTHING away.

I'll trade my 3-speed switch for a two-speed switch!!!

The first pics is the same as mine and the second is the one they gave me at autozone if i were to return it what year would i ask for? when i told them i had 3 speed the only part that was avaible was the 2 speed for my car {69 charger} so i want the 3 speed motor what year and model would i tell them to get a 3 speed that would work with my car? And where would i get a new wiper motor wiring harness that would plug into my bulk head  thanks  tom

The wiper motor for your car is long gone.  But you may be able to adapt a later one.  Go to the Rock Auto website and look at the variable speed wiper for a 75 Chrysler Cordoba.  I'm thinking that this is the same wiper as was used in 69 with the exception of the parking switch.  It is on the wiper motor and has two wires going to it on your car that are covered with Red Glyptal.  That switch was weak.  The later design has the switch in a black plastic housing at the same location.  I'm thinking that the shaft that comes out of the motor and goes through the firewall may be different but that you could take the one out of your motor and interchange into the newer wiper motor.  The parking switch could be left as is or if your switch is still good, it could be retrofitted into the new wiper motor.  Electrical plug may be different but you could reuse yours.  The parking switch plate can be "clocked".  Note where yours is and move the new one to the same position.  The variable speed wiper motor is the same as the 3 speed.  You can do this stuff if you want to play with it or send yours off to be rebuilt by the wiperman.  I think he is in Canada.  Do a search on this site to find him.
