mopar distributor leaking oil

Hey,  I got a distributor and orange box from mancini last year and i got 2500 miles on my car. When i got to st Ignac car show (250 mi away) I notice that my distributor was leaking oil bad, internally???  Any ideas why  Thanks

Are you saying the inside of the distributor has oil in it or oil is leaking around the distributor onto the engine?

It's filling up the inside of the distributor and leaking out.........

hmmm !!  its filling up you say      thats odd !! never hear of that much oil !!!  , have you a picture !!

Sounds like a bad seal or something in the distributor - see if they will replace it for you.

There are no "seals" in the distributor, the only way for oil to enter the distributor body is past the shaft. If oil is being forced up the shaft I would check for excessive crankcase pressure. (blowby)

Its not blow by. It runs perfect and only has 2500 miles,also i have a breather on one side and a pcv on the other?

Wow i have never seen that before.
The oil must be running up the shaft is there an internal o ring in these distributors.
Dumb question but have you the right oil level in your engine, May be you have a wrong dipstick. How many litres of oil was put in on the last oil change.

Lots of engines that have a PCV valve and run perfect have excessive crankcase pressure.

Jon, I think you are right. It only happened when i went 2 1/2 hours at 3000 rpms. Any ideas how to get rid of the crankcase pressure?  Should i get rid of the pcv and run 2 breathers? or i have a extra hole (oil fill) on the same side as the pcv valve. I could run a pcv and a breather on one side and another breather on the other side? Thanks Shawn

PCV one side, breather opposite should work. The rings would be the next culprit.

About the only way to check for excessive crankcase pressure is with a water manometer plumbed into one valve cover while the other one is plugged. They make kits for this but they're kinda pricey.

I just got my new mopar distributor and it is the same part # i have now but this new one has 2 vent holes in the bottom and the one in the car does not have any?  could this cause a problem Ill post some pics when i get it out

What if he were to run dual pcv valves from each side???   The Mopar valve covers have knockouts on both sides??
