He's probably getting ready or on his way to Carlisle?.......... Just a guess...... Tom is hard to get a hold of sometimes, but he's always pulled through for me whenever I needed something......

What hemi68charger said. Tom runs a small operation....I think just him and an employee. The phone will ring a few times before he gets to it but he does answer the phone. It was frustration for me too the first couple times I called. This time 'o year with Carlisle on the horizon he's jamming. Hang in there.

He is a great guy to dur business with.  He helped me and threw in some extra stuff that I didnt even realize I needed at the time.  Let's help keep the small "MOM and POP" shops open.

That is all true and Tom is a great guy, but he really does need to get VOICE MAIL. It's 2010, not 1910.

I've recently (last two weeks) dealt with Tom as he had the inner taillight cover that I needed and couldn't find anywhere - when they sent me one that was marked "69" but was really a "70" he quickly shipped me a new one before we even shipped the incorrect one back...  Jeff who did my restoration was surprised I got a hold of him because they stopped using him 2-3 yrs back because they were tired of him not answering the phone....

He may have weird hours and no answering machine but his service is far superior than a lot of others that I know.

It's actually a good business practice to NOT have voice mail for him, so someone can't claim they "left a message."  I personally embrace the "in person, shake your hand, talk to your face" business model. In a world based on text messages, and impersonal communication (like this forum  ;D), it's refreshing to see the old school business model.  Lets face it, when restoring our cars, we are eager to get the parts, just so we can apply them and have our cars still sitting there, not running, not moving, and in the garage.  I think it's just one of the quirks of doing business with him, and it's something you can laugh about.  Anybody know him personally?  Maybe he could post a response to this thread and give a statement.

Actually, we've been in contact with Tom for a couple months now.  We brought to him last year at Carlisle the C post (rear window quarter glass weather stripping) for our 70 chally vert since all of the current repros are not even close to the correct mold and have to be glued in, in order for them to stay.  Tom is working with a company now to get it molded correctly (using our original one) and it should be at our door hopefully soon so we can test fit it on our chally.  As far as correct parts and service, I would have to say that Tom ranks right up there with Mike Ross of B,E/A parts, Bill Alphin of A&M High Tech Auto, and Dave Walden of ECS. :2thumbs:

Tom is a great guy.

As far as the voice mail thing goes, I fully understand. Running the registries I would quite often get messages asking me to phone folks back. "it will only take a minute, please call me back". I was ending up with long distance bills $600 to $800 a month.

Now folks can call me when I am home or email.  ;)

 Yea, I agree, but I never said anything about voice mail. I was only sugesting a machine to at least let you know you have the right number and maybe...business hours. That's all. I wanted to do business with him, but ended up going elsewhere. Maybe next time Tom. :cheers:
