The name and wheels he gave rise to are now pieces of $hite.  :'(
If you want quality don't buy these wheels then.

Well, I brought a set of Junk Yard Dogs back in 2006 through newstalgia wheels and got a good set of wheels and tyres.
I have just received a rear wheels and tyre combo that I just ordered recently and what a big let down in quality control, don't know if this is since Boyd passed away or what. I couldn't order from newstalgia this time as they don't even list Boyd Coddington Wheels anymore, not to sure when that happened either?

So I ordered from Summit 2x JYD 10'' x 17'' with a 5'' BS, JYD with 5 Lug/ 4.5''. 3'' center bore, signature center caps, flush mount valves.
And mount some 295/45R17'' (Part # 3745R) Mickey Thompson ET Street Radials II on them?

My old wheel with flush mount valve

The new wheels with flush mount valve, WTF and why do they face inward for?

As for the QC check out the wheel nut bores, these machine gouges are clearly visible with the nuts installed

One wheel

The other wheel

In all fairness Summit have been great, it has taken since June 3 for these AH to get back to summit, with a 'so what'.  :flame:.
Summit have offered a $150 gift voucher, it a crying shame a supplier has to look after a manufacture of a substandard parts and with no quality control, no back up, what a pack of c....

Boyd wheels has been bought out by American Racing Wheels recently...     I know they are a little less quality but they are now more affordable...      you get what you pay for...

The valve are easier to fill up from the inside than the outside - people used to scratch the wheels trying to air them up between the spokes...

I am planning on running the same wheels and I think the all these things are liveable...    I am looking at custom wheels for <$400 a piece...     those are for 18" wheels...

i can see your point. i mean i wouldn't want to mount the rims if the bores for the lugs are gouged like that. if it is a standout to the eye atleast. but the valve stem is a good idea for not scratching up the lip on the rim but is in a funny location inmo. but they look good from what i can tell do you got any pics of them on the car i'd like to see that.

$440 (17''x 10 x 5'' BS) verses $375 (18''x 10 x5'' BS) I paid for the first ones I got, not cheaper in my books.

Climbing under the car to check your tire pressures at the track, cause you can't go through the front of the wheel cause there's a big disc brake in your way. :pullinghair:

Can live with that, well if I wanted a half a$red product I would have gone to the bargain bin at Wal-Mart.  ::)

It sounds as you have a vested interest in these?

Though I suppose there no accounting for some peoples tastes and ideals, I paid more than the first lot, I'd expect at least the same quality.  :rotz:

As I said, you want $hit quality wheels, buy these.

No invested interest -   They were one of the few wheel manufacturers that worked with me to actually make these things fit my car -  they offered to go above and beyond what all the other wheel makers did - Although it was more because of the company i am going through...

However I do admit those wheel lug holes look like shit.

I am going through are the awesome guys...        It looks as if Summit is charging a bit more than the place I am going (shipping not calculated though as the place I am going is located 10 minutes from me) ---
