Ok here is a new one on me. My wifes 03 300m had a check engine light on. It has 99000 miles so I thought I would throw a new set up plugs in it to see if it helped. After driving it for a couple of trips I
filled it up and the next time we pulled up to stop we got a very stong gas smell inside cabin, (ac on windows up)
I am a bit confused, btw the check engine light went out before the smell started.

not sure on your fuel smell , 9 times out the 10 the check engine light is an o2 sensor , or a loose gas cap  .
