Better to sell 71 Charger as 4bbl or 6pack?

I am selling my 71 Charger R/T that is a U code car but has had a 6 pack installed. The 6 pack setup was installed early in the life of the car and appears to be not reproduction but orignal style. My question is would I be better off to replace the 6 pack with the original 4 bbl and keep the 6 pack or will I recover the cost of the 6 pack in the sale?

I think it depends on the buyer so I would offer the car both ways & see what you get for offers

Personally, if you have all the right stuff to put it back to a 4bbl, i.e. proper intake, dual-snorkle, etc, I would keep the six pack for any future Mopar.............  I don't think it'll hurt or help the value THAT much taking it off..............

Good question. I'm assuming the Charger is a all matching #'s deal. The purist who live for the paint dabs and grease pencil markings will say return it to pure stock. There will be some buyers who get some serious wood when you mention 6 pack. If you have all the original 4 bbl stuff from the car I would think the car would be worth the same or more than with the non-original 6 pack.

I would keep the 6pak every time but everyone has a good point here. Do you have the 4bbl stuff?

Nice looking car, what are your tire and wheel size setup? I like to copy that look on my 71 Charger. thanks.

Big Lebowski

I'll guess they are 15 x 8 Rallyes in the back w/ 285/295/ 50?60?r 15's and in front 15x7 rallyes w/ 245/ 60 r15's. But I'm guessing.

If everything else is numbers matching and you have all the 4 bbl stuff, I would say switch back to the 4 bbl. But if its not a #'s engine you would probably get more for it with the six-pack installed.

XS29U0G

The car is not numbers matching. The tire size is 255/60 on 15 X 7 rims on all 4 corners. Thanks for everyone advice.

NHCharger

Then I agree with golden73. You will get more with the six pack set up in the car.
