Any good "tricks" for drying out a fuel soaked motor?

It's not "wet" on all cylinders but they all reek of gas. (from ignition problems)  :shruggy:

 :lol: It's not puddled fuel! I let it air out with the plugs removed over night, now I'm putting in new ones. Wish me luck!

Give it some time to air out, when your starting it got to WOT the extra airflow should be enough to dry things up and get you started.

You might want to pull the dipstick and see if it smells of gas. If it does, be sure to change the oil. Mine did the same thing and when I changed the oil I stuck a match to the drain pan of old oil and it ignited. A sure sign of gas in the oil and not good for the engine.

Honestly, you don't need that much gas in the oil to do that.  All you need is a little bit to reach the lower flamable limit and then once ignited, the fire will feed off of the oil.

take the plugs out ,  blow the cylinders out with compressed air !! nake sure you do it in a vented area , with no sparks , just incase, leave plugs out for a little while !  :yesnod:

Darn 440 is fighting me....I'll take the new plugs out and let it sit for 5 days. I'm kinda stumped and pissed. I'm thinking choke was the culprit so it's disabled. Previous weak spark (orange) with run tests loaded it up with extra gas. (I hope) That would explain why after all this it just will not clear itself out and run. I'll put a dryer on the air hose and blow out the cylinders, I was going to blow them out but my compressor and hose is loaded with water from FL. 100% humidity so I didn't before last test with new plugs. The only good news is I now have back up parts for everything since installing the FBO gave same results more or less. I have to find a manual choke for the six pack, with only 2 miles to work the poor car lives in "choke on" mode 90% of the time.  :rotz:

as stated before use a match, i use a long grill type lighter when i flood sumtin down the spark plug hole, its not going to blow up on u, just gunna burn.  fastest way to do it, and best way to keep gas from getting to the oil.  never had a issue doing it this way before

I'd be careful with that. you don't want to blow any dirt or dust in the cilinders.....

I'd remove all plugs and crank it over for a few sec's if you then leave it for the night then you'll be just fine.

NOS is nice, turbo's are neat, but when it comes to Mopars, there's no need to cheat...
