when priming my oil pump should i see oil running through the valve covers? Or will i need to have the engine running? are the hydraulic lifters what pumps the oil the rocker arm shaft? thanks

RD

you will only see oil coming up through the rocker assembly if you are slowly turning the crankshaft while priming the oil pump.  the oiling system to the rocker assembly is fed through the #3 cam bearing if my memory is correct on the number.  each rotation allows for oil to feed up through the oil galleys to the rocker arm assembly through the rocker shaft.
