Putting the inner seals into the 8 3/4 of my '72.
Pass side went in OK.
Driver side - no luck.  It's waaaay too tight.
Actually ruined the first seal and need another   :brickwall:
Any suggestions on how to get the new one in w/o bending it as I did the previous?

Thanks.

Are you using the proper seal-bearing driver kit? The proper tool will sit flat on the seal and allow you to drive it in straight.

Just using a socket on an extension is not going to get it done right

I do not have such a specialized tool.  I will have to see if some place rents 'em.

thanks....

Solved - thanks for pushing me.
Found a seal-bearing tool set at Harbor Freight - cheap but effective.

I know, I know...the right tools for the right job.

I have used PVC pipe and adapters of different sizes with great success. :shruggy: Grumpy
