Hemi crank?

Unpacked the crank I got with the block and heads last year but since I never worked on a Hemi before I have some questions. Is this a Hemi crank to start with? Mains are 2.63" approx so that could be and the rodjournals are 2.37" approx. 8 holes in the back also indicates Hemi but I don't see any evidence on balancing so that's why I'm asking myself if it's a castcrank? :scratchchin:

The 8-bolt flange identifies it as a Hemi-style crank and the wide parting lines mean it is forged.

The main journals are, however, 1/8" undersized which means it will only fit a B block.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

So you mean it's useless for my new worldcastings Hemiblock? I thought oversize bearings would solve the mainjournals. :scratchchin:

I think some mid 70's 413 truck engines also use an 8 bolt rear flange, otherwise I'm no help

With other words I should better look for a 440 crank for my build? :shruggy:

The reason I stated that it is a "Hemi style crank" rather than a "Hemi crank" is because some cranks other than actual Hemi cranks had the 8-bolt flange; industrials and race cranks like the Kellog for example. The 2.63" mains definitely prohibit it's use in an RB or Hemi block.

It's hard to tell from the pics but the rod journals don't appear to have the undercut at the sides like a production crank which makes me thing it might be a Mopar race crank.

Thanks John, does a 440 crank fit in my Hemiblock or do I have to search for a "real" Hemicrank? :scratchchin:
