What do you think ?  Keep in mind there are alot of engines that have spark plugs in the center of heads, they just can't use the word "Hemi" because of copy right laws.  These modern Fiat engines are not even US owned.  What keeps people from putting in another foreign engine into our engine bays. What's next a Tundra V8 into a Charger.  Why not put a GM, or Ford power plant in.  At least they are "American"  :shruggy:
I am on the fence about this issue.  Don't know what to do.    :shruggy:

Hot Rod Mag did an article on a guy that put a 2JZ Toyota inline six with over 1000 HP in a 1967 or 68 Camaro...He was "Hated" on both sides of the fence....Oh and BTW: I got news, Chrysler hasn't made their own engine since Mercedes took over....Everything under the hood EVEN the HEMI, is based loosely on the Mercedes design....That All new American Musclecar we call the Challenger and Charger? Mercedes.....Or at the very least, it's euro design based...

Nothing - other than skill, time, and money. At least the modern "Hemi" (which isn't a true Hemi) is sold and branded as a Chrysler product. The fallout for putting in an off-brand engine would be massive I'm sure. However, true hot rodders have been doing it for a very long time. I don't think most people view muscle cars the same as hot rods though.

I don't mind it at all. It is a Chrysler product whether you agree with it or not and a rather good one at that. It is not much different that a Cummins in a Dodge truck IMO. I am gathering the parts to put a 5.7 it in my '68 right now.

The only fuel injected engine worth talking about before these were the 5.2 and 5.9 Magnums and they had nearly zero support from Chrysler or the aftermarket for swapping. I am glad to see the aftermarket stepping up with the 5.7/6.1 engines.

I doubt Chevy and Ford guys worry much about this since they have had decent fuel injected engine swaps available since the mid eighties.
