I have already read other post on the Kit keisler, but none of them clarifies my doubts about it, that's why I open this new topic and to decide to the buy of the kit or to buy in another seller
Well, leaving aside the quality and the customer service, I would like know that you have had problems in the installation, for example, if it fits well in the tunnel, vibrations in the transmission, installation of pedal clutch, etc.
Also have I read that the hydraulic clutch has problems, you can say to me of what type?
Thanks for anticipated and the every help will be welcome

i got the TKO600 i installed in my challenger. and have another TKO600 i'm starting to install as i speak in my 68 charger. i can't say much about the install in the charger yet due to i'm in the middle of taking out the automatic that's in right now. but on my install in the chally i had to cut out a large portion of the transmission hump and reweld  a new one in as far as everything installed and fitting properly i had no problems everything went together great besides my motor being shifted to one side which made it hard to line up the crossmember to the frame. i had no problems with the hydraulic clutch system was easy to bleed just need a friend to pump the pedal while you bleed it. and the clutch feel is great just take your time and double check everything before you install stuff permanantly and read directions and you should have no issues i been driving mine for almost a year now with it installed in my daily driver and haven't had any problems yet. only thing bad i have to say about keisler is they forget to put alot of nuts/bolts in the kit had to call them up acouple times due to missing pieces but my experience was good with customer service and always got my parts within days after. which reminds me i have to call them tomorrow to tell them they forgot my crossmember to frame bolts. ill keep posting on here as my install go's i'll be working on it all week hope to have it fitted by friday but it's hard with no electric in garage to use a cutoff wheel to cut out the tunnel.

Hello, thank for your response, you have no bad taste for the cars  , The Chally also I would like to obtain it but he will have to wait for a lot of time.
How long approximately did it take the change? I suppose that the most complicated thing there is the adaptation of the pedal of clutch because it will be necessary to do holes in the firewall and to calculate well the measurements for the hydraulic pump.
Another question, you does 68 have brake booster?, mine had but they removed it and I want to install it again since it has front discs brake.

greetings to all

I have the TKO 600 in my 69.  No road miles yet but after hammering away endlessly at the transmission hump - I ended up fabricating one out of a piece of sheet metal.  Not hard to do for even a novice welder.  I had a auto in my car originally - so your situ may be a bit different.
I also have the hydraulic clutch.  It was very easy to install - no drilling of the firewall required (that I can remember).  I did have to drill a a new mounting hole in my clutch pedal to get the proper geometry for the rod end.

Good luck.

the swap could be done in a weekend if you work on it all day. it took me about 2 weeks to do because of the schedule i have at work. the hardest part i's say would be the trans tunnel cut out and weld in the other. the cylinder mounting is easy just had to drill 3 holes around the factory hole in firewall for the clutch linkage to go through. i to had to drill a new hole in my clutch pedal to get it to the right height. my charger does not have a brake booster. i'd like to install one since i got a 4 wheel disc brake kit for it. i'll keep posted on my install in the charger trans is in just can't jack it up the whole way to put the crossmember in because the shifter hits the tunnel so next step is to cut the tunnel out hard parts going to be finding something to cut it out with since i have no electric.

hey where was your shifter located on the keisler trans?  mine is mounted right in the center on top of the trans. i thought it was supposed to be offset so you can put it through the stock hole where the linkage go's through the floor on a automatic. was your shifter mounted directly on top in the center of the trans hump? got any pics? don't wantto start cutting and have it be the wrong one.

Yup - mine was mounted right in the center on top of the tranny.  They (I got mine from Classic Motorsports Group) give you a small piece of sheet metal that you can use to weld over your stock 4-speed hump that moves the shifter hole towards the center of the car.  Then (if you have a center console) you have to buy (or fabricate) a shifter relocation kit that puts it back to the stock location.  Mine was an auto originally so I just cut out the whole tunnel - put the tranny and motor in - then fabricated a new tunnel around it - removed the tranny and motor - welded on the new tunnel - then re-installed the tranny and motor.  Sounds like a lot of work - but since I was putting everything in from the bottom - it really wasn't.

Since I did a custom job - I bought a Hurst shifter and made my own custom relocator so the shifter knob ends up exactly where I want it.  You can see a picture of it on the last page of my  build thread:

thanks for the information. i will be using the stock center console. i called keisler yesterday and asked them about the shifter location and using the console they said i would just need the 4 speed top plate on the console to make it work is this true? is the factory 4 speed shifter location on top where the keisler kit has theres or is it offset to the side? they gave me in the kit a 1x1 ft or so piece of metal to weld in when i install trans. i have it all bolted in now but still have to go up 4 inches or so to be able to mount the crossmember in place just put it in so i know where i got to cut at.

I never had a 4-speed in my car so it's hard for me to tell - but I would say that in order to use your original console and shifter - you will definitely need to make some sort of adapter rod from the base of your shifter to the shifter mounting point on the Tremec.

Here are some pictures of mind after the conversion.

I have about 6,000 miles on my TKO-500 and I have no complaints.

I did not convert to Hydrolic clutch so I can't speak on that.

And of course mine is a 67 so I'm not sure if there are any differences in the tunnel humps between years.

Hope this helps.

If you are converting from Auto to the 5 speed. We offer a template to lay down to make the cut. The piece from us is no larger cut than installing the Factory 4spd hump. We offer the console adapter so you wont have to fabricate one.

With my disastrous English  :-\ sometimes I do not understand any words  :shruggy: , but the photos are of big help for me.
Great information, as I can read, the installation is not too complicated, my 68 is automatic with center console and I want to support the original aspect and to reform the least possible.
Hey Gene, I am Alvaro, in August or September of last year I asked for your kits, but I have had many problems with the title, the DMV and the seller in Ca. The Charger comes on July 4 to Vigo (hallelujah) and I`m work again in the matter of the transmission and thanks to this fantastic forum I have solved many doubts.

yea i got the template but couldn't figure out where exactly to place it on the tunnel. the only cutting you will need is where you's give the 1x1ft or so piece of metal to place in am i right? can you post a picture of the console adaper i think i might need to get one since im converting from a auto to 5 speed and using the stock console in my 68 charger.

Did you get your kit from me?  If so the template sent had you measure from the block back to two different points to line up your template.
