RPM all mopar show pomona lake kansas

Member here RD his local club had a show yesterday and a few of us Kansas city HPAC members cruised down to have some fun

  it was a blast  cruising out on the hwy with a group

not every day you get to go out cruising with a real HEMI daytona

my buddy matt with the 74 cuda just did a 5.7 hemi swap into it over the winter . He did it all in his small garage at home .

alittle ways down the hwy from our starting point we gained an awesome challenger convert that is just amazing . It has a new 6.1 hemi in it and manual trans

we got stopped by a train ( i'll bet it was todds fault )  LOL

  mike was behind us in his hemi charger   got out and snapped a few pictures

if you notice i like to wander over the center line    thats on purpose so i can get side views of all the cars in the pictures  .
 I really shouldnt drive and take pitures at the same time

  v 8 dakota convert was bad ass and sounded really great

  quintin has a 66 so we have to always check out the 1st gens

   there club has only been around a couple of years now , but this was a very nice well run little show ,  It was a great place to cruise too and great show location . just a little far out but that make it fun cruising down there .

   300 convert with the long ram and a manual trans

  the little valiant convert was 4 sales for 4500.00

 I have to go get ready to go to visitors sunday at scout camp , we are driving down two hours away to see taylor at camp ,  will post some more pictures tonight

I loaneed him my knife and my funnel

they just by passed the heater core and were back on the road in no time

scott it was our towel also , but you dont owe us anything  , we had just won them as door prizes .

speaking of breaking down we sheared off an alternator bolt in the head going home ,  we made it home ok with the help of duct tape , yes duct tape . We spent all evening getting the car back on the road and missed the belton cruise .   Car is rigged back together but now i have a ground issue and it wont charge regularly  ?

do you have a ground from the battery cable to the radiator core support?  most old mopes dont, but I found that a 12 gauge wire grounding the battery to the core support helps.  They did this on all the dodge trucks if I am not mistaken and my 87 dodge ramcharger would not charge consistently at 13V without that ground wire attached.  Not sure if it will fix it, but it wont hurt either!

it has the big ground strap   We have easy outs but we had even a diamond tipped drill bit and could not get it to go down into that hold ,  hard ass bolt tip broken off in there . , I will post pictures of it later  .  We found a bracket off another motor to bolt into the other holes in the head and had a pre threaded nut wleded on to mount the alternator .

   we couldnt get the bolt to driil out so we mounted a bracket to remount the alternator

  so still trying to trace down my grounding problem

Try a carbide center drill, but be carefull, must go in straight carbide is hard & dose not like side movement. Be sure to were safety glasses, carbide will shatter, then try a left handed drill, sometimes it will catch & back the bolt out. More than likely the bolt work harden over the years & all the heat cycles. .

we were using a left handed drill and an easy out , but just couldnt get a hole for it to bit in

     the bracket is working fine for now . its the chargeing problems now

well took my life time warranty alternator back to oreilly today and got a new one   works great now

   broken bolt and broken altornatior , i would image one cause the other  .

  went back to the standard black solid state regulator  ditching the blue race style for just a bakc up in the glove box again
