I have a "friend" who will sell me his Dana 60 Rear axle from a 72 Duster that was Dragged race for period of time.
It has the 4 1/2 inch bolt pattern and it is a real Dana 60 rear end (not sure where it came from orginally).  Will it fit a 71-74 Charger ?

Pretty sure A body's never came with a Dana 60 so it was prabably shortened to fit under the duster.. In that case I don't think it would work ounder a third gen because it would be too narrow? :shruggy:

Not to sound like a @##$ here, but I thought some of the '68 Hemi Darts and Barracudas came through with Danas..
Usually, depnding on how much it was cut to fit under the A body, the axle will be too short..(Narrow)..However, if one could measure the spring perches and by some chance, they are in the same location, only the rear was narrower, then you'd be able to run crazy offset wheels and some REALLY wide tires...I don't think this is a poss. though....

Measure the width.

If its not far off you can probably just have the spring perches moved and can maybe get away with spacing your rims or just buying new rims with the correct offset to make up for the difference.

There's over 4" difference in the A body and 3rd gen B body spring pad width, if the Dana was narrowed and sits on 43" perches, moving the perches out to 47.3" might not leave enough room for the U-bolt.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.
