Hey Guys,

My pops down in Florida needs some assistance with fixing a minor issue on his 99 Dodge Ram 2500. Basically he nor i trust any automobile shops anymore (sad that its come down to it) and im sure its only a minor issue. As much as he is mechanically inclined, he does not completely know his way around things.

Basically the problem with the truck is that it doesnt fully go into park, will go into park on the indicator but it seems to partially be in reverse as he cannot start it in park (needs to go into neutral) it will still roll down an incline, and he has to lift up on the shifter to pull his key out. Im guessing worn bushings or just an adjustment that needs to be made, everything else is fine.

Im wondering if anyone has a shop around the area that can do the work (at least i know they can be trusted) or someone who simply lives in the area that wants to make a few bucks?

In the very least if someone has a shop manual scan of the linkage and adjustment procedures so maybe he can do it himself. Hes physically more than able to, just does not know how it works and without me there looking im not sure how it is either.

Thanks Guys/Gals!

Hey Stuie:

These guys are pretty good. I know them because they are right next door to my paint guys. They do really good custom exhausts and can work on practically anything. John (the owner) is a bracket racer and has had several bad-ass cars. He knows his shit - I'm sure they could handle a simple linkage adjustment - or more if required. Let me know if there are any problems with the link.
