Hot Rod Power tour rolling through Iowa today, if it stops in a city near you it's worth going out to see.  Just how big is a Hot Rod Power Tour? Very rarely do I go to a car show and not see everything... I had to give in today as my Dad was done after walking 3 1/2 hrs (I would've stayed the extra hour to see another couple rows of cars.)  A few pics, also includes a couple from a local Mopar show in town...

I wonder how many of these cars are actually doing the whole trip? It is great to see people with nice cars actually driving them.

Did the first 2 legs of the Power Tour last year and there are actually a lot of people that do the whole thing.  Obviously you have the others that drop in and out through the trip.  If you can catch the Tour it is really worth it.

some friends were picking up the tour for about 300 miles they said.  Joined in Springfield IL Sunday.  They said I should have made the trip.  Probably right, it was a beutifull day.  I went to a little car show in Dupo IL.  Only about 75 cars.  I got second place with the 69 Daytona.  Lost to a two month old 2010 Charger SRT8.  The guy with the Charger was great.  He said he voted for my car in the peoples choice and was almost apoligetic for winning :shruggy:  The class was Mopars All, and he had a mopar :coolgleamA:

I'm sitting in Mobile as I write this. Just finished the formal part of the tour. Still have my 10 hour drive home tomorrow after the Long Hauler ceremony. Been fun, but I'm beat.

Not a lot of pictures to share, but here's the my Facebook album for the week:

Challenger performed about as close to perfect as I could expect. Just had to replace a ballast resistor. Ranged from 9.8 mpg (when we had to back track to rescue a friend running 90 plus) to 17.5 mpg (on the leisurely two lane stretches). Overall averaged 14.5 mpg, and I generally was running 75 to 80 mph when conditions permitted. Loved those 2.76 gears. Covered about 2850 miles, 610 of them yesterday coming home.
