Looking for opinions and ideas on Hot August Nights. I have reservations for my first one :icon_smile_tongue: Going with several friends and spouses (but just my Road Runner), they can all find lots of fun, but it's the car action that I'll be there for.

* Is there a single best Mopar show or Mopar group affair?

* Is there one particular show or venue to not miss? (Downtown, Atlantis, Summit, Bonanza, or?)

* Are the drag races at Fernley worth the drive?

* Is there one cruise to not miss (Downtown, Sparks, or?)

* Is there one auction event that stands out?

Thanks for any input, Dan.

Type Hot August Nights into the search box. There's lots of reading there.

Did it already before posting, thanks.  :yesnod:

Lots of pictures. No information.  No opinions posted by Charger guys and gals.

That's why I posted specific questions.

There is pretty much nothing on all the Mopar forums, just pictures. Great pics but no opinions. :'(

I asked about it once and the general consensus around here was that it was too hot, too crowded and, if you're bringing a nice car, too hazardous. I didn't get a whole lot of feedback though...

Thanks Bull, I missed that link, thought it was just about Woodward.

I'll post the questions over at Moparts. See what opinions come up. I guess I'll give a report later on about what the experience is like.

Hey Dude...

Went last year with the Charger and the Daytona and it's nuts. There are probably 15,000 cars. We got there on Thurs and left on Sunday which was more than enough time to see what we wanted to see and experience it. The nightly cruises are also a great time and it actually really fun to see muscle cars at every stop light. As for your questions, in all honesty I don't think you'll be disappointed with anything you attend.

Cheers - Mike

Morning Gang,

I live here in NorCal and several gearheads I know have gone and had a great time. It is crowded so you have to plan ahead for lodging. Its a well organised event with secured/patrolled overnight parking. Several years back the law had their hands full dealing with assholes who attended just to cause as much trouble as possible......dangerous for people and cars. Cast a Pall over a great time. The cops dealt with the thugs in a very sever manner and its been nice ever since. Nevada police don't have to deal with the ACLU whiner types as is too often the case here in cali.

Thanks Mike and Tom.

I guess I am shocked that there is no Mopar action to be found. Having read over the event pages that HAN provides, and reading the e-mails from all the casinos, there just isn't a Mopar scene there. I've heard that the shows are overwhelmingly Chevy, what with so many Northern Cal people attending (NoCal being Chevy territory).

I'll report back the good and bad.

Gawd I love Sonora/Twain Hart! As a side note, I don't own or have access to an enclosed car trailer. I mention this because there is no way I'd drive my fresh 69 up hwy 80 or 50 because there would be paint damage. Highways are good but winter debris is always there especially gravel.

68X426 I too was a Chevelle owner but then I got Mopar religion.
