how hard is it to make 68 fenders into 69's. i have a lead on a set dirt cheap, 90 bucks a peice, surface rust only. what is involved with putting my 69 marker lights in them?

Tilar

The 68 lights look better. Change the back ones.  :D   :stirthepot:

lol, nah, want to keep the 69's. covering the 68 holes wont be hard for me but the 69's have an indentation in the fender. dont know how to go about getting around that.

Troy

I have been looking for decent 68 fenders forever. I have a pile of 69s.

The marker light hole is the hardest part to duplicate. However, the 69 fenders also have an extra piece on the nose for the hood bumper.

Troy
Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

so if these are decent you may be looking to trade?

c00nhunterjoe

holy crap, it looked like someone drove over them with a semi........ troy, i am in need of good fenders for a 69, pm me with what you have and prices please

Joe,
You could try cutting out the marker light openings on your bad '69 fenders, then welding them on to your other good fenders. Cut them out neatly, then use them as a template to cut out the area where they will be flush-welded onto your replacement fenders. Measure once, twice, three times or more to make sure they are in the right spot before you weld.
This is not for the novice, and can be kind of tricky. Then, there's the hood bumper thing to contend with as Troy mentioned.

well i dont have any spares, the ones i went to look at are in horrific shape. nothing to salvage. so i am still looking for good 69 fenders

Troy

This is the extra piece on the 69 fender.

I won't ship fenders so if you want some you have to drive to Ohio and check them out. I'd say I could bring some to Carlisle but now I'm not driving anything big enough to haul them.

That is what I would do...still might for my '68 even though they are not in too bad of shape. I get a discount through my local Dodge dealer and save the shipping cost when the come on the normal delivery truck. Probably get an AMD hood too.
