rear drive axle hubs ?

  What was used for the rear axle(hub) on the stockers of that era. Did they use a drive plate like today?

It would be something like this.    These are aftermarket units from the 1969 Frankland Racing catalog.     You can see how the floating hubs go together.

 So it looks like no.3 is welded into the axle tube and the outside is similar to a Dana 70 truck axle?  Hey thanks :2thumbs:
