Ok, newbie here,  Been around muscle cars for 40 years, can't beleive I have to ask this.  I recently pulled the engine and transmission from my 68 Charger (383 HP & 727 trans)  However I am having a problem seperating the trn from the engine.  It has seperated about 3 inches from the bell housing and won't move any further.  I know I'm really going to feel stupid when you guys give me the solution,  but  I really need to get it off. :brickwall:

Have you removed the starter and the converter dust cover?
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Have you removed the bolts holding the torque convertor to the flex plate?

Even with the converter bolted to the flexplate the trans ought to pull off of the converter.

It really didn't want to come off untill I unbolted the flex plate, then it slid right off.
