Its been a long road, but well worth it

Its been a long road for me since I come off the assembly line in DEC of 72 in the St Louis dodge plant. But I'll fast forward a bit to the spring of 92 when a couple with a 6mth old baby came to look at when i was listed in the local paper. his first words when he seen me was "it's green, its all green" :eek2:. But lucky for me his choice was me or a 69 roadrunner all taken apart :scratchchin:. Over the years I worn different hoods and my new owner started to restore me with a new motor since my original was long gone before he bought me. Hell once I even had a brother :slap:. Then came a bad time when that stupid deer ran in front of us many years ago and I thought I was done for :o. But my new owner Dan wouldn't sell me. After going back and forth to winter storage for many years he finally turn to his son one day who is now a grown teenager and said lets rebuild the charger together :woohoo:. I was stripped totally (dirty minds) and every piece was media blasted, repainted or re chromed. i got all new parts, from ball joints to new interior, my engine is a 1970 383 punched 20 over, 2 steps up on a mopar purple cam and steel crank, Hell I even got the cool air AC upgrade. My rims were replace with the new no-unlug SS supersports all one piece chromed aluminum alloy with 15/7 in front and 15/8 in rear. i love my new 71 grill and hood and Dan even had the black strip painted on so no one would think I'm a 71 clone. I think the strip looks nice with my new vinyl top and front and rear spoilers. My pipes sound sweet with the TCI 2.5in exhaust coming out of my rear S/S gun tips, but there is also a pioneer CD changer in my truck with the 4way 6x9s(its to loud, your to old) I still need a rear pumpkin swap to a sure-grip, but that can wait till the fall/winter. I now look great and turn heads, but please let me close my headlight doors before the camera flash hurts my headlights.
it's been a long road, but well worth it.
thank you

Wowee!! talk about doing it your way!   that looks very sharp, those louvers look great when seen from the inside out. Very Nice, awaiting even more pics and info...  :yesnod:
I really like how you did the side stripe too,.. I'd like to see a profile view to see how the stripe follows the fender shape in front.   :popcrn: Perhaps another photo shoot is in order eh?..  :scratchchin:

found this pic on the truck thread... hope you don't mind me adding it...  :shruggy: It's a great shot and an awesome rig..
I bet you got MOPAR fathfull chasing you down the road like junkyard dogs...

Seeing the new, side pics, that's about as fine a rendition of a non stock made to look stock stripe as I've ever seen,.
Ma should'a made them that way..  :yesnod:

stuga

The strip was painted and the hood black-out was painted on the car, i'm going to put the emblems on the rear truck lid, but most everyone agrees to leave them off of the doors

Here's a photo you guy's can show your wife/girlfriends so they don't think your only the crazy one around.

It was also a pleasure talking with you 3rdgencharger. I think I would be better off taking my pickup truck to haul more parts :icon_smile_big:. This is the next generation of Mopar enthusiast. My son Joe on the driver side and his classmate Nate on the passenger side

That looks absolutely incredible. There is not one thing I don't like about that car

Your attention to detail is second to none.

Thank you jb666. We had to take several pics of the car with the boy's touching it, due to the fact that no one believed my son that the car was real when he showed his friend's at school previous pics of the car on his cell phone.

I believe it. The transformation is amazing.. I love how you did the "before/after" pictures at the same angle.. Very cool.
