What year plates for 74 Charger? (inspired by YOM plate thread)

Would a 74 Charger, with an August 73 Build date be registered in 73 or 74?

I am looking at getting an expired plate (73 or 74) for my car to use when parked at shows etc, and wondered which would be the correct year plate to display.

Unfortunatly I have litterally no history on the car prior to 1984.

Since the car is a 74 I would use a 74 plate. As for being correct it would depend on how the state issued plates.

Unless it sat around it would have been registered in 73 with a 74 expiration date.

I do not know how KY issued its plates but since you are using it for display I would get a 74 plates.
