Hey gang..
What would these ('70/'71 426 Hemi valve covers) be going for or worth? I know that aren't being reproduced from scratch. IIRC, there's a gentleman who's taking '66-'69 covers and modifying them to look like the '70/'71's......

Mopar Performance has them, 70/71 valve covers.  New Part #: P4510577   426 Hemi Valve Cover Set (1970-71)   $672.00 without shipping.

WOW! That's pretty high! So what would originals go for in great condition. How would one be able to document that?

I paid 1200.00 for a nice pair about 8 years ago...which was a pretty good price at the time.

I have one remaining 70 Hemi Cuda valve cover from my dad's 70 Hemi Cuda.  Some guy saw it online and offered me $800 6 or 7 years ago before they were reproduced.  I didn't sell though.

I agree with Jim, there was a time when '70/'71 Hemi valve covers were like gold. Being that they initially started off with a low production number to begin with, it was only a two year run. The '66-'69's are more numerous and the reproductions Chrysler was selling for the longest time were the early version... Supply and Demand.. now that Mopar makes the later versions, the value of originals have decreased, albeit, originals will always have value over repop's........

I'll buy that oil cap off you!

TheAutoArchaeologist

Lol... you aren't the first.  I'm keeping the oil cap, thanks for the offer though.
