You Have Got To Be Joking... (More Jetta Problems)

well... my Jetta's toast...
the top speed of the car is 43 mph, put it in 5th gear and it just stalls...
the head gasket went on saturday
it has 34.7 horsepower to the wheels

now my question to all of you,
is it worth rebuilding and what would it cost to rebuild it?
or should i dump it on someone else?

Decent used cars are cheaper now than they have been since the great depression. I'd find something else, diesel parts are very expensive compared to gas.
