do i have to have the car on the ground when putting on the front sway bar?!?

hey guys....
i finallly got my front sawy bar hardware!! (long story) lol
but i remember reading somewhere?? that the car weight should be on the ground when installing the front sway bar?!?!?
as oppposed to being up on a lift or up on jack stands on the frame?!?!?

I have a 70, a little different but I think what they mean is to not have ether both or one of your LCA's hanging down as it would be a mess hooking up the links.

tighten all nuts & bolts  etc with the car weight on the wheels
