I have a friend that found an original Road Runner with a 383, 727, and Dana rear.  I haven't actually seen a Charger come that way, but you would think if someone ordering a car wanted it that way that Chrysler would have built it.  Would requesting a tow package on your Charger change what rear you would have gotten?

Not Possible from the factory - Someone put the Dana in.

I agree, but why is it on the fender tag?  :popcrn:

What tag? We are talking about a 383 Runner in this case.

Sorry, not talking about the RR, but about the Charger the topic is about

:popcrn:  Color code and VIN # removed - rest is as photographed...

If that is a 7 on the build month you can pretty well chuck that tag in the re-pop pile. Not many (if any) cars were built in July. What are the first three numbers on the VIN?

Is there a Dana under the car?

That's not a problem. The VIN would be about 434XXX. 69 Hamtramck can go up to at least 442XXX.

Is that the best picture you can post????

What is the code before H51?
Seeking information on '69 St. Louis plant VINs, SPDs and VONs. Buld sheets and tag pictures appreciated. Over 3,000 on file thanks to people like you.

Yup - I realized after posting -  cars were still run the first week or two into July. That pic looks like it was taken via sat with night vision.  :icon_smile_big:

Which part? The July build - which IS possible, or the 207 portion of the VIN #? What part of the year would that have been?

Thanks,

No H31 EVER on the tag......

207XXX too early for a 7/1 SPD

No SUCH radio R35 for a Charger.

The A33 is the least of this poor tag's problems....

Thanks - I will say, it is the MOST numbers I have EVER seen on ANY 1969 Charger R/T fender tag  :yesnod: :o

So no AM/FM radio on the Charger? I have seen plenty of AM radios and a few 8 tracks...

I've seen the rear defroster, but on the fender tag, there's a code for it - for another product/vehicle line?

207xxx would have been built, when?

Interesting... Please don't take this the wrong way, but are you absolutely sure???

Thanks again, this thread and folks who responded have provided some pretty interesting insight!

BTW for me, RED FLAG #4, car reportedly went across the auction block before at B-J  :pigsfly:

Ding ding we have a winner!!!!!

Might this be the car :scratchchin:

This thing has been on ebay more times than I can count on 2 hands......this is the ONLY reason I am posting the full tag (because it was recently on there.....)

Ive had the car in the registry since 2005 (first time it was for sale on the bag)

Chris' '69 Charger R/T

472 R/T SE

This whole ordeal is exactly why it's best not to divulge information to just anyone about how to tell if a tag has been modified from it's original state when reproduced.

It makes them easy to spot.

That IS the car in question - That you for the info.

In fact, now that the car is out in the open, what else is known about the car.  :popcrn:

On eBay for the past 5 years? Did it ever sell, or what's the rest of the story??

This is getting REALLY interesting...
