Anyone see/have 69 RT w/ 727 and A33 Track Pack? Books say it is not possible...  :popcrn:

All the "books" say the A33 Track Pack is reserved for 440 and 426 cars with manual 4 spd trans.   :icon_smile_question:

Also, said it was NOT avail on cars with Air Cond.   :scratchchin:

What if I saw a 1969 Charger R/T with both AC and a 727 Auto listed on the fender tag - AND has A33 listed?  :shruggy:

What do you know - or what have you seen?

Thanks

Right, I don't think 4 spd and A/C go together.

However, what about the 727 auto and A/C which were possible - but WITH the A33 Track Pack? A33 is what throws me off...  :popcrn: It seems to have been built this way - unless....

I think what tt's trying to say is A33 is strictly for 4 speeds & you say it has AC, 727 & A33.

Sounds like it was heavily modified or it's an A32 car with AC added.

You're definitely gonna hear folks asking for proof.  Like photos of the tag/broadcast sheet.

Just 6T9 CHGR

You could get a 383 with a 4 speed & A/C but not a 440 or Hemi

The A33 code is standard for 440 or Hemi 4 speed equipped cars

Where on the fendertag is this A33 code listed?

Need to see pics of tag  :scratchchin:

Yeah, I am not sure it could have come this way, but if the fender tag said the car was equipped with D32, E86, A33, and H51, what would one suppose?

Dana 60 rear with auto is what first caused my eyebrow to rise... :shruggy:

Just 6T9 CHGR

One would suppose either...

A---fake tag
B---factory error mis-stamp
C---error reading the tag
D---1 of none car!

What I understand is Track Pack is an available option, but standard with 440 or Hemi 4-speed.  The low gear ratio on the Track Pack made A/C unavailable with it.  I have seen a '69 Roadrunner with a Track Pack.  It had a Dana and the Hemi leafs with a 383.

Hmmmm.... WHat are the odds on any of the above??

Car was restored - maybe, like with 1967 427 435 Corvettes, they build them and then build the docs to support?? Plot thickens...  :shruggy:

A33 = 69 - 71 Track Pack
3.54 axle ratio w. 9.75" Dana 60 axle, sure grip, max cooling, 7 blade fan, and HEMI Suspension.
Avail. w. 426 and 440 engines w. 4-spd. only. N/A w. Air Cond.

So why is it on the fender tag with E86, D32, and H51?  :brickwall:

XS29L9Bxxxxxx

BTW, I don't see what the big deal would be over 3.54 gears  :scratchchin: Also avail. in 1969, was the A36 Perf. Axle Pkg. w. 3.55 Axle however, it was with the 8.75" rr and sure grip, max cooling, 7 blade fan, hemi susp. and for 426 and 440 engines WITH Automatics only.

Hmm...  :popcrn:

Pics please.....

A friend is working on the pics.

In the meantime, I take it, nobody has ever seen this combo, as built from the factory?

Just sounds too strange however, with MOPARS, stranger things have been seen  :popcrn:

LeesRT

I have a friend that found an original Road Runner with a 383, 727, and Dana rear.  I haven't actually seen a Charger come that way, but you would think if someone ordering a car wanted it that way that Chrysler would have built it.  Would requesting a tow package on your Charger change what rear you would have gotten?

Ghoste

You could order a Dana behind an automatic, at issue here is doing so in combination with air conditioning.

I don't see why not? This tag and photo of it from a C500 was posted in the Aero section: C500 (basically an RT). 440/727 with 4.10 Super track pack.
Never say never with Mopars.

Mike,

Thanks - but the "books" show that was a correct config.  (without A/C).

It was a 69-70 opt. w/ Auto Trans Only.

Believe it or not, the rarest option so far that I have in the registry of over 2150 Chargers is the A31 High Performance Package.

This consisted of mainly a 3.91:1 ratio 8¾" rear......only available with a 383 & 4bbl (with or without A/C)

To date I only have (1) registered with this option & believe it or not I HAVE the tag for the car!   Its an SE car as well.  It was given to me by a Moparts member who found the car in a PA junk yard (which is long gone now)

This car was also built on the last day of production for the '69 model year....7/18/69

R/T with D32 AND A33? HMMMM Definitely was not available to the public as a D32 option, only dana option was 4.10 (A36). But with mopar mistakes were not uncommon! Maybe an executive ordered it that way?

It's not possible because....

If you had a 383 car and wanted the four speed, all you have to do is check D21 and you got the manual over the automatic transmission.

Ordering D21 was not a stand alone option for the 440 or Hemi. The only way to get the four speed with a 440 or Hemi was within the A33 or or A34 PACKAGE.  The Package included the four speed, Dana, dual point distributor, and max cool radiator and fan set up. Just as you could not order the Max cool package or the Dana as a stand alone option, you could not order the four speed by itself. You didn't get the Track Pack because you got the four speed, you got the four speed because you got the Track Pack.

A/C was never available with A33. Therefore, Chris' explanation is the best:
A---fake tag
B---factory error mis-stamp
C---error reading the tag
D---1 of none car!

Is the BS available and what does it say?
Seeking information on '69 St. Louis plant VINs, SPDs and VONs. Buld sheets and tag pictures appreciated. Over 3,000 on file thanks to people like you.

I do need to see the BS/Build Sheet - unless you meant to say the build sheet might be BS ;) (which the whole car might be...)

I would hope the error is either "B" or "C", as "A" is bu!!$h!t and "D" is improbable, true?

Thanks for the info - this site is spot on so far  :2thumbs:
