hmmmmm

http://usdebtclock.org/numbers2/USTaxFederalRevenue2010Mx.swf

so the numbers are a series of flash files... flash files are graphic programs, not from steaming RSS feed types, so that tells me it's a bunch of numbers based on someones mathematical computations THEREFOR is not "Real Time"

take that snopes :P

neat anyways, i like lots of flashing numbers and colors :)

It was flashing on the local news last evening. Don't know how true it is but it's got to be close.

bull

I don't think anyone really knows the actual number but some sources say it might actually be up around $50+ trillion.

Khyron

phht... that's all? we can make that back by selling a couple of nukes, then, invade the country that bought them for persuing a nuclear arsenal and take them back.

I think it depends heavily on how you count the assets & liabilities.  You might get $50T if you counted the indirect stuff like implied coverage of theoretical stuff.  Stuff that is the American govt's problem on paper but it would be a different story if it ever actually came time to pay.

13 trillion is such a huge number, to get your mind wrapped around it, here it goes:

13 trillion, 11 billion (as a number, and if each number is considered a day, i.e. 13 trillion, 11 billion days) and each 365 days equals a year, so this number equals - 35,646,575,342 years, that is 35 billion, 646 million, 575 thousand, 342 years (earth was created 4.6 billion years ago based upon current scientific radioactive decay measurements)

If you were to build a time machine and go back in time 35 billion years ago... um.. the earth wasn't even around for you evolution types and for those that are not.. well.. its a long time before JC stepped on earth.

( i hope i did my math right )

now to do it this way.. if each of the 13 trillion, 11 billion was turned into a second in time, and we had a time machine it would go back 412,576 years... folks that is in the Cenozoic Era, Quaternary Period, Pleistocene epoch.

that is when these ran amok
