Thanks Kern Dog.
Next time I'm at my parents house I'll go check the basement for that can of Tannery, lol. Probably beside a Consumers Distributing and Shop-Rite catalogue, lol.

looking good it is great your back at it .are they going to paint with the primer that the other garage put on , did they think it was ok

CDN72SE

Thanks Brad, they did a cross-hatch test on the primer to check adhesion and it passed so they are good to go ahead with sanding, high build primer and then paint.

Hope you have better luck with the Charger Specialties tach than I have.
I bought two. One was stored inside for 2 years and did not work when installed.
Second one worked but reading was way off. About 50% off. It then sat in an un-driven car and was totally dead 2 years later.
Complete waste of around $500 on my part. Never again.

CDN72SE

I bought this tach years ago and it's been sitting around for a while. Over the years I gad heard different stories about their tachs, guess I'll have to wait and see what happens.

Dropped by the shop last Thursday to drop of my Hood Pin kit that I bought decades ago at a local car show.
Just some more random shots, not a lot of progress, could be in paint next week.

Kit was produced by D.C.S., did a quick Google search and it looks like they are still around. (actually think it's Dales Cuda Shop)

Thanks, don't think I want to cover it back up with undercoating; just the wheel wells this time.

Why mine got painted, just couldn't hide all that nice smooth metal. At this point I can't even bring myself to doing the wheel wells, I might wait until they start getting a bit chipped..  :scratchchin:

With the amount of salt and crap on our roads and the rain we get, a few chips would turn into a rusty shell in a years. Full undercoat for me!

The shop that did the work on my car used a paint color tinted raptor bedliner so it looked good and is somewhat more durable

CDN72SE

I've owned it for almost 30 years and it's had it's share of Canadian winters and road salt and abuse as being used as a daily driver and one time pizza delivery car.  I think I can safely say I will only bringing it out on nice days and I'll be sure to keep my eye on the chips. Just need a change.  :2thumbs:

That might be an idea, I've seen that, initially I was going to go full coverage as it was originally but now I'm being a bit swayed against full coverage.

Progress update for this week. Panels are off and sanded.

The large panels to go in for primer tomorrow and following that the car body is going to be shot in colour on the firewall, underneath and in the passenger compartment all in colour.

The car will be primed on the outside with slicksand and the panels will be installed and blocked to the car, then the car will go into the booth for final paint.

The car is looking really good! It's so nice to be on the home road. Close to paint and only a few 100 more hours of sanding, but so worth every stroke.

This hobby is more than just our cars, it's the people you get to meet along the way!!!

Looks good. I can imagine your anticipation level.
